Game Thread | Game #30 | Pacers @ Cavs | Dec. 16, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Great win. We already suck on the road - can't suck at home too

Just another example, and there have been numerous, of why you don’t stat watch Markennen or stress about the future picks.

Worth EVERY aspect of that trade and then some.

Inspiring win! Had no belief they could just turn it on and dominate in the fourth quarter like they did. Great effort from Garland, Caris, Mobley, and of course Donovan is a flat out superstar.

When we were tied with a few minutes to go I had this thought - we’re the better team, we’re going to win this thing. Nice feeling.

Wins vs the East this season prior to the New Year:
Bucks - another chance December 21st
Celtics
Pacers
Hawks
Sixers

Nets - December 26th
Magic
Pistons

Raptors - another chance December 23rd
Bulls
Wizards
Heat
Knicks
Hornets

Less of a load on Mitchell/Garland. Less Neto. Shit probably will end up being less Okoro/Stevens in a roundabout way just off overall depth. Can't wait.
LeVert will need to play more minutes at SF, so defintely less Okoro and will also eat into Lamar’s minutes, although Lamar may at times play small ball PF and cut into Love’s minutes

All worth it to have Rubio back

Orlando is bitch slapping the Celtics
I reached out to a friend from Boston who is a Celtics fan about this.

"I'm done," he said.

Reigning Eastern Conference Champions. 22-8. But he's done. Must be nice.

Then again half of the game thread crew would say the same about the Cavs in that exact position.

Fan, short for fanatic

But yeah, I imagine Robert Williams being back will actually be an adjustment in an unexpected way because part of the Celtics brilliance so far this year has been based around playing a majority of the game with 5 3P shooters on the floor at the same time when Horford was getting heavy minutes at C and Grant Williams heavy PF minutes.

They’ll have to adjust but the likely will.

Individual stats. Some surprises in here, for sure

Starters:
Mobley 16-9-2 with 2 blocks in 31 minutes
Garland 20-6-10 with 2 steals in 35 minutes
Mitchell 41-1-3 with a steal in 37 minutes. That one rebound was clutch too! 14-24 fg, 8-15 from 3. Killa Spida!
Allen 7-5-2 in 39 minutes. The worst I've seen him play.
Steven 0-3-1 in 22 minutes His worst game.

Bench: 34-10-5 in 26 minutes.
Osman 14-1-2 with a steal in 20 minutes. Welcome back Cedi!
LeVert 12-7-2 in 26 minutes
Love 6-2-1 in 19 minutes
Okoro 2-0-0 with 2 steals in 9 minutes

JBB used Allen, Mobley, Mitchell, Garland, LeVert the last 4 minutes to win the game.

I still don’t like the idea that Okoro and Stevens played together so much. Don’t understand why not putting some minutes for Neto to initiate offense (at least since we have back to back tomorrow where Luka is looking to rebound back). With Rubio coming back soon, I would like to see a traditional backup PG even for some small minutes to get some offense going.
