Game Thread | Game #31 | Mavericks @ Cavs | Dec. 17, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just feel bad for the fans who bought tickets to see Luka play but this is on the NBA.

How do you make this game? Dallas played at 8 last night. That's 11pm Eastern time. Then you make them travel 3 hours forward in time to Cleveland to play the next night? How stupid.

Normally would be bummed to lose the challenge for more growth against a solid but not great team, but given yesterdays tough comeback and the back to back, I’m totally fine with what should be a much easier pathway to an easy victory.

Gonna be hard without Lamar. Need someone else to cover Josh Green

I mean people buy tickets far in advance to have the opportunity to see guys like Luka play live. The league being greedy and handing Dallas this ridiculous b2b is just such a shitty product to expect fans to be cool with. I don’t blame the mavs one bit for this.

It is stupid but Dallas is central time zone, one hour behind Cleveland. Doesn’t change the point very much.

That sucks. You know there’s a ton of people who bought tickets tonight

Since it’s a Saturday
Luka is really good
And Cleveland has a huge Slovenian population

Happy the Cavs on paper should get an easy win but this kinda sucks
If I remember correctly the first time Luka played in Cleveland he genuinely appreciated the love from his countrymen, as there was a large and vocal flag waving Slovenian national crowd in attendance.

It really sucks for the local Slovenian contingent that circled this game and bought tickets specifically to see him. Perhaps he can now attend the banquets thrown in his honor...

I'll take a blowout win with the starters resting midway through the third quarter.

The NBA schedule giveth, the NBA schedule taketh away.

I mean I wouldn't be surprised if the Mavs end up sitting most of their good players.

This has got to be the worst b2b of the season for a team? From Dallas to Cleveland? That's just brutal.

Cavs could play some awful ball tonight and I'd still be stunned if they lose this.

Bet the Cavs and whatever the spread is.

I laid a nice ticket on Cavs -4 before all the injury news came out.

As long as they don’t fall asleep like they did Against the Spurs and let Christian Wood go for 50 Im feeling good.

This is one where I really want to see us come out meaning business, have the bench come in and start a Cavalanche and go up by 30 by half time.

Flex your muscle as a top team in this league and make the entire 4th garbage time.

BTW- totally don’t give a shit about Cavs fans who don’t get to see Luka.

Get some Nachos and watch Mobley dominate. I might peep some cheap club seats from any disappointed Slovenians.

I'm really looking forward to JB running out the okoro Stephens combo and us failing to score 10 points in 5 mins against a gleague lineup

Whenever another team’s star or best players are out I don’t immediately think “Oh good, we’ll dominate them”...instead I think “God it’ll be so embarrassing if we drop this one.”

I wish the Cavs were a more consistent team so they could give me more confidence.

In any case I’ll be at the game, sitting courtside.

Dallas still has Hardaway, Finney Smith, Wood,Bullock, Bertans, Kenna and Javale

Probably a 22 win team overall but if we don’t take them seriously enough they could definitely go off from 3 and embarrass us tonight.

Guard Wood straight up with Mobley and make him score 50. Don’t let them get the ball moving. Control the glass and interior. Mobley and Allen should be able to dominate tonight.

Cavs just cannot play lazy. Have got to protect the ball. JBB has got to manage minutes and fatigue. Neto should play a bit for sure. And hopefully we can get the role guys shooting well at home tonight. I could see Mitchell struggling from deep tonight after the scorching hot night he had yesterday.

Just really hope we don’t turn this into a dogfight where we have to try and come from behind because doing that two nights in a row is really tough. And they may have their 3rd stringers playing but they’re probably actually relatively fresh physically.
