Hollywood scandal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think he's afraid for his and his families safety. Also the statute of limitations have passed so he would likely be facing lawsuits.

Saying you are going to name names seems more dangerous from a personal safety perspective than having already named them.

Eh...he's been saying he'd name names for 20 years. Never seemed to do anything.

If he starts this campaign and people give money and he doesn't come out with some serious names and instead they're just using it for more pot...then he's in some serious shit.

Nice to see the replies where Republicans go straight to comparing her to Harvey Weinstein and somehow using this to defend Bill O'Reilly. Good Lord.

It's not comparing her to Weinstein, but to be honest, what the fuck is the difference between Ellen doing that, and if some guy did it?

They're friends and they're both women, but it's still an objectifying statement that I wouldn't have posted if I were Ellen personally.

That Ellen doing it, while harmless, is tone deaf and hypocritical?

And that under ordinary circumstances I couldn’t give a shit less, but to a certain extent... us men should be able to sexualize women a LITTLE bit without being considered rapists.

Actually...I couldn’t give a shit less either way. Katy Perry has great tits. Ellen could afford to be a little hotter.

When people talk about how cute my 3 year old son is, they are objectifying him. It makes me mad. I wish they’d focus more on his intelligence. :chargrined:

They're friends and they're both women,

Ellen is gay, so the fact that they're both women shouldn't matter at all. It's either 1) tone deaf as hell, or 2) a belief that the rules that should apply to everyone else don't apply to her (or perhaps even to women in general).

LOL okay.

What do you want bud? Cause I didn't say I agreed with it.

Look, I think it's good to have a conversation when people, including those consider themselves progressives, cross lines in these regards and maybe think more about our words and actions. But that's not what this conversation is about. All I see is a bunch of butthurt dudes that are mad that Ellen is "getting away with it" because they get scolded for talking about tits or whatever they're angry about. They aren't comparing her to Weinstein because they think Ellen is a monster, but rather because they see it as a chance to de-legitimize the conversation on sexual assault and harassment.

EDIT: Look at Huber's comment above for confirmation that for a lot of people they just see this as an opportunity to laugh at what women have been saying rather than actually being concerned about the issue.

I agree it's hypocritical on her end, that's not the critique I was making.
