Sorry, away from the Cleveland media....but Lucas,,,,a lock? Where did that come from? Is there talk locally about this? I thought he was joining the Wolves summer league team. Where could this have come from - I know hoopshype takes blurbs from media outlets....but who is writing that?

Lucas is on the twolve summer league to get more exposure if he doesnt make our squad for some reason thats another 12 teams (6 games) that see him in action and stuff. Better chance to get on a team that way. General feel is he could be a 3rd pg.

havent heard the lucas thing.

The Lucas thing was from a writer in a Sacramento paper. I really don't think he has insight as to which summer league player might make the Cavs roster.
I don't think that after only 2 summer league games with the Cavs that Lucas is a lock to make the roster. I put his odds as slim to none and there's a good chance he won't even be in training camp with the Cavs.

the one thing we do need is a point that can deal with the quicker, smaller points in the league. tj ford, boykins types killed us ecspecially against mcinnes. if we do pick up a sarunas, daniels type we still will be stuck with 6'4" players guarding a midget. lucas came from osu and traditionally play some of the toughest man to man in the nation. in the summer league and chicago tryouts he showed he can nail the jumper and made smart decisions with the ball. i think the SA thing is for them to look at gilchrest more and the spurs needed a point to fill out their roster. all the summer league games do is let all gm's get a look at free agents and their own young talent. lucas actually has a nice situation in that he can go to any team. if you got game the'll find you.
