Since alot of us older members Cant stand some of the threads now going on, anyone think an executive room, or a vip room, or better yet call it the champaigne room. Anyone can read, but only people with a certain rep level can post in there, might avoid alot of the stupid responses. Even If I dont make the cut, I would enjoy reading with less doomsday posts and ferry sucks etc.....

If you can get some virtual strippers in there then I am down. :king: I think this is a very good idea though. There are about 10 guys on here that I just love to hear responses from and they are almost all at the top of the rep scale.

This would end bad, it was one of the reasons that this site was created in the first place from the CavsCentral.com incident.

I know it is getting bad right now, but once the draft passes and we are able to get a hold of all the threads, then it will be fine.

Give it a day or two and the chaos will sort itself out.

I've been a viewer of this site since early 2006 and very rarely if ever post. I've stated before that I don't have enough basketball knowledge to contribute much to discussions. Many other posters are quick to throw out info that would be infinitely more useful than whatever drivel I'd spew up. I'd rather read informative posts than clutter the place with uninformed junk like some people do.

That being said, as a dirty lurker, I check this site religiously to find out what is going on with my beloved Cavs. There are about 10-15 posters that I enjoy regularly reading and many of their posts have taught me a lot about the intricacies of this game. Some of their nonsensical opinions are pretty funny too.

Since the beginning of this year, it's been getting more and more difficult to wade through some of the muck. Not a big deal as it's great to see so many people cheering on the team. Key times of the year like draft day and trade deadline day are hilarious as people are always near suicidal.

One solution that I've seen other websites do is to have a special section of the forum that is only viewable by people who plunk down, say $20 per year. Not only does this give people who are serious about the site a place to post that would be without much clutter, but it would give some revenue to help pay for the site.

I'd have no problems plunking down a 20 spot to be able to view a section that really only had the serious people in it. I probably wouldn't say to much but would still be happy getting some uncluttered info at a pretty good value. Hell, I just put a little money down just because it's only fair since I've been coming here for a good while now. I haven't lived in Cleveland for a long time and sometimes it's hard to get good Cleveland biased info and opinions. This place is by far the easiest and best location to keep up to date daily on the Cavs, along with other Cleveland sports teams.

Alright, that's it. A suggestion for a private donation only section.

Back to lurking. Also, W&G, if you happen to stumble upon this, you rock! Every word you write makes me enjoy this game more.

I could perhaps have a Gold Star Member's forum...

I could agree on a forum where only certain members are allowed to post, but everyone's allowed to read. I come to this forum mainly to see any new news regarding to the Cavs, and whereas I don't always contribute to the forum by posting my opinion, I always gain valuable information that I wouldn't be able to find as efficiently everywhere else. I'm sure there are a lot of people like me that just like to come here, read news, and reactions. If you split the boards up however, then there's a good chance that the regular, more respected members would feel less compelled to post in regular topics, and post mainly only on the "VIP" board. I think that would obviously be very bad...

How long until the RCF Platinum Lounge opens?

My only concern would be that if we end up having a "V.I.P Lounge" that the quality posters would rarely drop input in the public area. Then the site would just die, all the new members would leave and you will be back to the same old users from couple years ago. Is that what you guys want? Is RCF made for a handful members who like to hangout?

I think if you find a member annoying you should just block them.

My concept was allowing all people to lurk in the platinum club, but then you have to earn your way up to posting there.

I actually like that idea. Of course, I'm sure I wouldn't be allowed to post there, as I'm just an arrogant schmuck that no one likes other than Pip. And even then, Pip only likes me because of our shared love of Stryker. But to be honest, I wouldn't complain, as everyone knows I'm a horrid poster with little to add other than a smartass comment or two.
