How bad does OSU lose to USC in the shoe ?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think OSU could/should lose by 24 at home to a true freshman QB led team. It's one thing if the game is in November and Barkley had 7 or 8 games already on the resume, but in his first real college start, on the road, at night, on ABC. Logic says he's going to struggle. There's no doubt USC is more talented, but Tressel should resign if he loses to a true freshman QB at the shoe. It will be the pinnacle of embarrasments.

As we get closer to kickoff, is anyone else as nervous as I seem to be about this game? Geez; I can't remember being this nervous about an Ohio State game. Maybe it's because we have lost sooooo many big games over the years? Maybe it's that I feel this is our one LAST chance to prove to everyone that us as fans are not idiots for supporting Tressel and a bunch of losers who never can win the big game? Maybe it's the fact that this game... the second game of this season, WILL make or break the entire season? Winning the big ten ship is boring. We do that every year. What else would there be too watch and play for for the rest of the year if OSU loses on Saturday night?

Maybe it's all of those things. All I know is that we better be ready to play and play the best game we have played in a few years. I hate to think what will come of this team and beyond if we get beat, and get beat badly.

The rep just keeps on coming for the positive people in this thread.

I'm a sophomore at Ohio State this fall.

I was in 7th fucking grade when we won the national championship vs Miami.

Yeah, I think it's time to move on and start holding people accountable.

We won the championship under Tressel in 2002. Can you tell me how many coaches in the NCAA have won a championship since then? I can: 5.

Nick Saban, Pete Carroll, Mack Brown, Urban Meyer, and Les Miles. Even in a league of "what have you done for me lately," only five coaches and four schools have won a championship more recently than Tressel and Ohio State.

Not that I feel good about the recent blowout losses... but we are absolutely an elite program, we recruit as well as almost any team in the country, and we've been in the national championship game two of the past three years. We have arguably been the third most successful team in Tressel's tenure behind Florida and USC. I personally feel that Tressel is underappreciated.

100% feel you man on basically everything you are theorizing on and saying...honestly, i'm hurting from our recent big game losses.. the texas one stung me hard.. i have a feeling it's going to be a game very similar to that texas one, but we'll hopefully be able to force their frosh qb to make a few key mistakes.. I still feel we come out ready for this one.. I'm super anxious.. but very very very excited

I actually think Ohio State will win this one

k 2002 was 8 years ago and since then we have been blown out relentlessly in big games.

For how many more years is the 2002 fiesta bowl going to be used as an excuse for poor coaching?

Agreed 100%. The Buckeyes have looked ill prepared in big games since 2005. The Florida and USC blowouts were disgraceful. They weren't even competitive. The LSU game really wasn't that competitive either. We were down by 14-21 for most of the 2nd half. Clearly, there is a problem in these games. USC may be more talented that OSU. But, I refuse to believe that they are 35-3 better. There is no reason for these massacres that the Buckeyes are enduring.

You think those guys last week weren't looking ahead to next week? We have a young team and they defiantly were. OSU got caught over-looking Navy is a lot better than the rep they get. OSU will not be looking at the same type of offense either. A regular offense is much easier to prepare for than the triple option, especially for a big ten team like Ohio State.

USC has to travel to Ohio State. Even though Ohio State has had trouble in big game in the past, all of those game were techincally road games. The 2008 national championship was literally in LSU's backyard. Last year, Ohio State had to travel to USC. With the exception of last year Penn St. game, Ohio State has been on the road in nearly every big game.

USC will have to travel to the horseshoe, where the largest OSU crowd will defiantly be waiting. A true freshman QB will have to play in arguably the hardest stadium in the country. Ohio State lost a lot of starters last year, but they kept Terrell Pryor. Pryor, unlike many past OSU players, has the ta;ent to single handedly take over a game. Without that USC line-backing core from last year, I like OSU's chances. Don't forget, OSU showed up last year and nearly beat Texas in the fiesta bowl.

OSU has some major impact players on this team still including Kurt Coleman, Thaddeus Gibson, and of course Terrell Pryor. I like OSU to break the streak and win this game 30-24.

I bet 50 bucks with my friend the buckeyes win,f*ck the trojans.

I don't understand the negativity from some of you tOSU! The trojans have a freshman QB at the helm. The shoe is going to intimidate the living shit out of the kid. USC lost most of their starters on their all-time great defense AND you guys are at home. Whatever happened in the past, is just that, the past. I expect tOSU to come out guns BLAZING! Gonna be fun tomorrow
