Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So I guess Pep Hamilton and Kirby Wilson are names for potential OC

Kirby Wilson has spent all of his 18 seasons in the NFL as a RB coach (New England 97-99, Washington 2000, Tampa 02-03, Arizona 04-06, Pittsburgh 07-13, Minnesota 14-current)

Pep Hamilton was Indy OC from 2013-15, Chicago QB coach from 07-09, San Fran QB coach in '06, Jets WR coach '05, Jets QB coach '04, Jets offensive quality control '03.

Crossing my fingers for Ken Zampese.

Love the optimism in here but I've heard the same things about past coaching hires before. Ill believe it when I see it on the field. I think Hue was the best candidate out of the bunch but I'm going to remain cautiously pragmatic. This team is full of question marks across the board.

Does Hue have any ties to Jim Schwartz?

Doesn't appear so, at least looking at the coaching history. I wouldn't be shocked if Mark Carrier got a look for D. Coordinator.

Bengals defensive backs coach since 2012 (Jackson was an assistant under him). Ravens secondary coach from 2006-2009. Jets D Line coach in 10-11. Spent 10 years in the NFL as a player and was a 3x Pro Bowl Safety.

Seems like he'd be a pretty logical choice given his history and ties to Jackson. See any other names rumored out there for D Coordinator?

Wilson is curious to me...has never called plays, was a DC in college, and DB when he played...but there is no denying he is a good RBs coach...without having anything to go off with regards to play-calling, I can vouch that he has been tremendous at developing talent, at least in the last 2 years...sure, that's easy to say with Adrian Peterson, but in 2014 when he missed 15 games, Vikings still finished middle of the pack in terms of rushing yards, rushing TDs, and yards per carry while using a guy who was a FB in college, and a rookie who was an option QB in college.

His development of those 2 (Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata), on top of what he has turned Zach Line into at FB has been pretty impressive, at least to me. Not sure what his credentials do for him to become an OC, but it worked for Eric Bieniemy when he was the Vikings RBs coach, albeit at the college level. Guessing he's a choice if Jackson wants to call your guys' plays.

I suspect Hue will keep Flip.

Don't see any ties between Hue and Schwartz; but if you do a quick google, Hue has spoken highly of him publicly.

Is there further context behind the Bills' defensive regression following Schwartz' departure? Did they lose major players? Poor offensive time of possession?

Is an assistant coaching search thread appropriate?

He's stated he "absolutely" would have kept Schwartz as DC had he gotten the Buffalo HC gig..

Rumor is he would like to be back in Tennessee, but I'd consider him a legit candidate here as well.

Wow I am happy for this even as not being a huge fan this hire might bring me back. That said who do you draft with him on board? I just want to see the opinions. Great hire though.
