2006-07 was his best season but he was very good right up until he got hurt. You'd have to assume that he doesn't get that catastrophic injury in 08-09 it's true, maybe my last post shouldn't have assumed that.
Joe Johnson on the other hand...he'd still be playing here if we had gotten him LOL.
Yeah, given with how we drafted in the years following that trade, not making that move was one of the dumbest things we're ever done.
Atlanta gave up:
-Diaw: Good player. Can't think of who we could've added that was comprable
-Atlanta's own first round pick no later than the 2008 NBA Draft. That pick which is "lottery" protected (1-14) in 2006, has protection through No. 3 in 2007 and has no protection in 2008. This ended up being the 15th pick in 2008
-In addition the Suns will also receive a conditional first round pick via either the Los Angeles Lakers or Boston Celtics from an earlier trade between Boston and Atlanta. The Laker pick which is subject to protection through No. 10 in 2006, protection through No. 5 in draft years 2007-2010 and unconditional in 2011, is owed to Boston from yet another previous trade. In the year that the Laker pick is conveyed to Boston, Phoenix will receive the least favorable of Boston's own pick or the Laker pick. Pick 21 in 2006 draft. Traded Rondo and Brian Grant to Boston for (Ironically) the Cavs 2007 1st that we traded for Jiri Welsch!
Looking back it's laughable how little we actually would've been given up.
I'd have to assume with JJ on the team LeBron never would've left in the first place and I think we would've been able to win a title at some point prior to 2010. LeBron, JJ, AV, Z, plus a couple other pieces would've definitely been on the correct path.
