Why doesn't Otero pitch more? Seems like a really solid reliever every time I see him but he's fallen down the pecking order for some reason. Matchups thing?

That was why speed can kill on the bathpaths and how sometimes even if you pitch well you can be unlucky like Smith was there.

Also Bruce isn't as strong as a defender as others, but it's not always easy to get that ball when it is slicing away from you, but he could have done a bit better on those balls hit his way.

Otero is usually used earlier in games/more of a longer reliever a lot of the times. For the playoffs essentially guys like Smith/Olson will be the guys for 6th inning, the Shaw 7, Miller/Allen for 8th and 9th inning. So Otero, McAllister, Goody are all kind of put into the 5th inning type of role, but when your starters are always into the 6th inning or on, it's hard to get guys like Otero in.

Seems like Tito likes Otero most with inherited runners in the middle innings, or more importantly when a double play is needed. But with how good the starting pitching has been & the emergence of Olson as another matchup option, that role hasn't really been needed as much lately.

For whatever stupid ass reason I watched away broadcast; the Angels announcers are absolute twats about every pitch being called a strike that's barely outside the strike zone.
