I think the game looks pretty stupid. Too much going on. I can see where some games will benefit though.

I pre-ordered this game what feels like two years ago. :chuckles:

I have a PS4 but I'm not really looking forward to this game. Other than the power changes it doesn't seem like they've upgraded it mechanically. And visually it's not the jump I hoped for. The Order is what I'm waiting for.

If we go ny the screenshots, and gifs then this is the first next gen title available the entire I boughso a ps4 s early huge fan of the infamous franchise. .

Ryse looked pretty damn next gen to me.

1st two were solid, but neither were 59.99 worthy. Well wprth the 39.99 I paid.

Im pretty excited I have mine pretty much paid off. I am hoping this restores my faith In open world games and becomes the true first Next gen big hit. Right now Rayman Legends Is my favorite game on PS4 along with NBA2k 14.

Second son, and ryse don't have much in common. Ryse is a corridor game with nothing on screen, second son is an open world game with a city o the screen. Not to mention the higjer resolution, and of course the better frame rate.n

Have you played Ryse? There's a shitload going on on the screen at any given time and it all looks fantastic.

And I'm not comparing the two games. I'm just debating the idea that Infamous is the first game that looks "next gen." Ryse looked absolutely amazing. And that's not a knock on Infamous, which also looks great. I love the Infamous series and I pre-ordered this one forever ago.

Traded in the pile of shit that was BF4 for this game. Bought Infamous 1 and 2 to get into the series..almost done with 1, its repetative but i still cant put it down. Havent even turned on my ps4 in ~1.5 months since i built a gaming pc, hopefully this game fixes that

Add me on PSN if ye want AuxiliaryPie53 (Some fuck stole auxiliarypie)

Welp I started a hype thread so I should be the one to give the actual game a go...

I received the game yesterday and the first half hour is kind of a bore... then you get to the city and then you realize what you're dealing with.

As God as my witness, awesome freaking game. I'm on Neon powers (non-spoiler if you've been paying attention) but this game is drop dead gorgeous. The game is satisfying in its gameplay and it keeps you wanting more with the story and the path you choose.

I haven't played the previous Infamous games and that might make me a little bit of a newb (and a little bias) when it comes to this sort of game but I can honestly say this is the system seller that the PS4 has been waiting for. It actually is the exact opposite of a GTA game and going into this I thought that would be a bad thing... but it isn't. It's a refreshing mix of new school and old school.

Great job by Sucker Punch to kick things up a notch and I honestly wasn't expecting this sort of experience graphically speaking. I own a nice gaming PC but I haven't experienced this type of graphical power and only Sleeping Dogs on Max comes close.... but doesn't quite surpass the amount of particle effects and overall quality of this open world game in particular. It's one of those old school gaming experiences with actual Boss battles from the old days. Maybe I've been playing too much Titanfall but this game hit a note that doesn't quite reach the mainstream enough now a days and even though it's "open world" there's something very linear and old school about it. Again, I never played the previous games so maybe this was my wake up call but this is a very good to great game.

I'm impressed and I've been gaming on computers since VooDoo graphics cards in the 90's when I was a Rainbow Six Rogue Spear addict. If Sony can push this much out of their developers this early then look out... This is a very good way to start things out. Impeccable almost, hats off.

Definitely enjoying the game so far. I've been doing a lot of exploring so I'm not too far in the story just yet. I'm pretty sure I'm about to get Neon powers, as I'm currently investigating deaths related to the chick with the Neon powers, but I'm not sure how many more missions until I actually get them. My only real complaint so far is that traversal kind of sucks. It feels really awkward climbing buildings. I imagine Neon will rectify this since you can just run up the side, but climbing just feels really stiff and obtuse.

The particle effects are definitely fantastic, though. Destroying shit is a lot of fun.

Just bought the game, just got into town and trying to 100% the very first area so I can have teh fast travels.

I also bought Infamous 1 and 2 last week and was only able to get through 1 before I was jonesing too much for Second Son. I can go back and play 2 later anyways :)

One question for those of you ahead of me, are the hidden cameras and secret agents and audio tapes just hidden things you have to wander around to find? I'm assuming they are, but I dont wanna do what I did with AC IV and explore for hours before I even got the hidden blades and realized I wasted a lot of time and frustration

Nah, they show up on the map after you destroy that DUP bus in each area.
