Now in Russia European Youth Basketball Championship is taking place. And there one reporter from Lithuania took an interview from Cavs' scout Rudy D‘The Bullshit Whisperer, who's Italian.

Scout was asked about Lithuanian basketball players somehow connected to Cavaliers. Rudy D‘The Bullshit Whisperer estimated the chance of Saras playing in Cleveland and that was 60%. He also said that Indiana and Sonics are especially interested in Sarunas and could probably offer more money than Cavs. But since Z is signed the possibility of getting Sarunas has increased. And Rudy told the reporter that there's a chance to raise the salaries cap in order to sign Sarunas. He believes the next season Ilgauskas and Jasikevicius will play together.

And about Marty there was said that it depends on his performance in summer league and Andriuskevicius the next season may play either in Europe (Kauno Zalgiris) or NBDL.

Heres the interview.

Question: Lets talk about Jasikevicius. Have you offered him a detailed contract?
Answer: We talked to him. He knows that we are interested. I have talked with him personally, also other scouts contacted him.

Q: About what were you talking? How does he rate his possibility to play for Cavs?
A: We talked about possibility to play in Cleveland (smiles). He said that everything depends if Ilgauskas signs with us. As you know we extended contract with him.

Q: So Jasikevicius said "if Ilgauskas plays in Cleveland…"
A: Then he would be interested in our offer, because they are good friends. Will it be surprising news in Lithuania?

Q: Not at all. What do new owners of club think about possibility of Jasikevicius playing in Cleveland?
A: They gonna listen to what we (scouts) and coaches suggest. We have resigned Ilgauskas, theres possibility that Jasikevicius will also play in Cleveland.

Q: How many percents would you give for him next season playing in Cavs?
A: Sixty. But there are other teams, which could offer more money. We'll see what will happen, but together with Ilgauskas they would make awesome tandem – like husband and wife. Like a marriage.

Q: What are other clubs heavily interested in Jasikevicius?
A: As far as I know Indiana and Seattle wants him much. Probably more teams exist.

Q: We heard that Pacers offered 3 years 15 millions to Jasikevicius…
A: You know everything (laughs).

Q: Could Cleveland offer him the same money?
A: You probably know that in NBA salary cap rule exists. We cant offer very big sum to him. After we resigned Ilgauskas and signed Hughes I dont know how much money left. We know that he wants to play with Ilgauskas, so we hope that his decision will depend not only on money.

Q: Is there a possibility you go over the cap?
A: I dont know if its possible. Club owners decide on that. I think such possibility exists, because Cavs want to have them both. I hope that next season they will play together.

Q: What positions your team lacks?
A: PG. We have SG, also LeBron James can play few positions. We need one or two players besides PG.

Q: Maybe another Lithuanian Arvydas Macijauskas would fit into this position?
A: As far as I know he has contract with Tau Vitoria (reporter confirms that NBA clause with small buyout exists). I know that hes great shooter and that he no doubt can play in NBA. But our team doesnt need him, because recently we signed his position player in Hughes

3 year 10 mil contract is what it should be. That's what he asked for in the beginning and is all we can afford.

Seattle can potentially offer him some PT, but probably very little. Daniels is leaving because the Sonics are committing to Luke Ridnour starting. 20 mpg max. Where does that leave Saras if he signs? I don't think he's going there, there's no set coach and I have high doubts that they can repeat their performance last season.

Indiana seems very interested. If Saras is about the money, then that's probably his destination. He won't really be guaranteed a starting spot. 25 mpg max sharing backcourt minutes with Tinsley and Stephen Jackson.

I don't think he's all about the money. I think he just wants to get paid a respectable amount to move all the way over here. Besides, he can just live with Big Z for 3 years if he wants to. He's probably made plenty of money over in Europe and wants to pursue his NBA dream. He knows he won't be able to build anything on his own here, so Cleveland should be the perfect fit: Lituanian central, in need of a shooting/playmaking PG, 25-30 mpg guaranteed.

As we all know, most athletes are all about making money. I wouldn't be suprised if he did go to Indiana to play behind Jamaal Tinsley. A fatter paycheck will always lure someone their way. It's life and being a Cleveland fan, we should be used to these type of situations.

We hyped him up pretty good here. It just seems too perfect for him to land on our laps. This offseason has been pretty good so far, and we have yet to hit a major blow in dissapointment. I think that Saras flying to Indianapolis might do that trick.

60% Chance being a Cavalier...

I agree with you that Saras would probably sign either Cavs or Pacers. Both teams next season are going to be really competitive, both are able to pay Saras decent money. I believe, Indiana city would be more attractive for Sarunas and perhaps a little bit more money they can offer.

However, Cleveland has Ilgauskas and LeBron and perhaps even a starting spot for Jasikevicius.

So, it isn't obvious where Saras is gonna play the next year.

5 mil is 67% more money then 3 mil, what the Cavs are offering. I'd say the chances are 67% he lands in Indy! :banghead:

It just seems that Saras doesn't care about the extra mil or two. Why else would he throw around numbers in the beginning? Surely if he wanted money, he would collaborate with his agent and wait to see how the market dictates his price. The price for a starting PG has been going up and up because of the interest in Antonio Daniels, Damon Jones, etc. He would have tried to get some leverage before throwing out numbers if he really cared how much they would be. I just believe that he wants to play in the NBA, childhood dream, etc. etc. In that case, playing time and teammates should be the decisive factor as long as the salary passes a certain threshold.

We Cleveland fans have to also snap out of our curse bubble and realize that we really do have something special here. Larry Hughes bolted Washington for Cleveland to play with LeBron... perhaps for more money, but LeBron definitely attracted him. We gotta figure that Cleveland has now become an attractive team to play on.

I don't know it's not looking good anymore, kinda like Redd said it wasnt all money and he led us on for a few days kinda like deja vu all over again, if we wants his friends and the most pt he will come here if he wants money he will go there. I think he will go to Indy.

The only other place I can see him going is Indiana. But if he cares about starting and being around people hes comfortable with(Z, Marty, AV) he should come here. Indiana cant offer THAT much more than us. I say the odds are still in our favor. I'd like to think that hes not all about the money, maybe he is though.

i dont think money is this guys driving force. i believe the only reason he wants to play in nba is because of z. he would of already of been here. i think it is cavs or no one. if he doesnt sign then he will probally finish his career in europe where he has been.. i dont think now at 30 that he is going to come to the nba to play with indiana, when z and marty are on the cavs. like i said if money was a driving force he would of been in the nba a long time ago..

I believe strongly Saras will be a Cavalier. It's the perfect situation. I try to believe it like it has already happened. I have strong faith in the Cavaliers. I believed all day 2 years ago the Cavs would win the lottery. If all fans would feel strongly about Cavalier greatness, would be very powerful. I believe in the power of collective consciousness. Maybe Cleveland is in a drought because the fans are all down on things. How many of you stopped watching the Suns game when they were down 19 in the 4th? I can be a real pessimist at times, and it's not always easy to believe, but I must keep the faith. Anyone read the Optimist's columns on the Cavs site, he is hilarious!

The optimist is humorous, but I've given up on him due to lack of meaningful basketball content in his articles. If I need a laugh there are far better alternatives then the optimist.

yea i know im worrying that he will be all about the money too.hes new to the nba he might look for the biggest deal.but those teams like seattle and indiana i dont know if they were offering him the starting job.he want that starting pg and i dont know how many other teams can offer that.

perhaps "Z" needs to be pounding it his head that he neads to come here..

plus a whisper or two here, that if you go to indiana there is a chace that 2 of your own teammates might decide to kill you (s-jax, ron) "NBA IS FAN-TASTIC" (loved that old slogan)

scare the hell out of him....

Exactly Lebron's Pippen, Z should be leading the recruiting charge to bring him in here. This should have been a done deal by now. With Indy offering more cash I see it more and more likely he becomes a Pacer
