Is a ring this year possible?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don’t think they are missing any pieces. I think they are missing playoff experience.

Barring another unforeseen Durant to Warriors type move, a healthy Cavs team should win a championship as soon as next year. They need to make a run this year first.

I don't know if people here watched The Redeem Team on Netflix, but it's worth the viewing.

You get a passive aggressive LBJ clapping back to Carlos Boozer for leaving the Cavs. That's always fun. There's a few tear jerking moments captured with Kobe and his daughter.

My favorite was a surprise: I forgot that Spain was the Redeem Team's main competition and Teen Ricky Rubio was on the court a lot. I think he was 16 at the time.

Really appreciate Ricky's level of experience watching it.

Too early to tell I think. I want to believe, but we need to get through some adversity first (as in losing a few in a row). Also, got to stay healthy. I think we need to play a few more good teams first to see where we land, and see if anyone "figures us out". Saying that, I'm optimistic there are good things there. I'm not that worried about the 3 position. While it would be nice to have a premier player there, and we might lose the 3 battle on a nightly basis, there are 4 other players on the court, and I think the 4 in those positions match up pretty well with almost any team. So I'd take winning 3 out of 5 positions a night, which I think we will always have barring injury.

Mitchell has 5 years of it. Levert made it twice. Allen twice. Love 4 straight years of final runs. Rubio twice. Lopez 6 times.

I think the experience is there. Garland and Mobley lack it but that’s pretty much it for the key players.

Hey fellow Cavs fans! This is my 1st post on here so sorry if this topic has been discussed. So, what does everyone here think about our prospects to win a ring this year? Is this a realistic possibility? I think we are one piece away from making this come to fruition. However, not gonna lie- if the stars align I can see this miracle happen. We have a very good defensive team. 2 closers in Spida and Garland. Most importantly, we are well coached and the team seems to love each other. The entire thing seems magical.

I think Mobley is the x-factor. If his game evolves into all star level this year- we have a real shot. What do you fellas think we would need to
make this possible? Again- I realize this is a pretty far fetched goal- but I would love to hear your opinions. Thoughts?
Don’t go there, man. Don’t get our hopes up. Everything so far this season has been a gift. Let’s just take is as a gift.

The guys aren't shrinking in the moment at all.

They're winning close games against good opponents. One in Boston too. They look like they can handle pressure

Want to see them AND JBB do this in a playoff series.

I am super impressed by these dudes. They are definitely not wilting and they clearly have the talent.

But beating the same team 4 times is really hard. And JBB hasn’t proven he can do it yet.

We don't know how Garland, Mobley, Allen & Wade will do in the physicality of the playoffs. None of them are exactly brutes and none of them have been there. But if they are able, and if we catch a couple of breaks, why not?

ya i dont think its really all that likely. But the conversation has to be had at some point.

7 of 82 games played.

Way too early for this talk IMHO.

I'm in no rush to think about the playoffs anyway. I'm savoring every game. We have no idea how much this team will grow the next 75 games, but that's a feature not a bug.

there is nothing wrong with playing the "what if" or "is it posible?" its a long season. I will enjoy this thread as long as the negative knuckleheads dont ruin it. You have your rant threads you can do that in.

Long season ahead. DG already missed 6 games. Mobley sprained his ankle before the season started. Mitchell tweaked an ankle last night.
Man this is a fun ride so far, Mitchell has been everything and so MUCH MORE. They are further ahead this season than we thought they would be. They also appear to love playing together.
JB needs to pay attention to minutes. I know it was Boston, and he treated it like a playoff series. Gotta cut minutes at some point.
