Should we trade Isaiah Thomas at the trade deadline?

The same could practically be said about Kyrie. Except he is 2 years from a max deal.
If the only negative to the trade is a 2 time All-Star..we'll just have to suffer through it.

And 2nd team all NBA/5th in MVP voting.

Kyrie is the better player, but we certainly didn't trade him for a scrub.

I just looked at Thomas career stats compared to Irving. I was shocked how close they are. and Thomas has taken the Celtics to 3 straight post season as the leader of that team.

Which is exactly the role Kyrie wanted, now Thomas has to adjust to being 2nd option (to the best player in the world).

IT put up similar stats to Kyrie last year as the focal point on offense. His stats will come down, but he is without a doubt one of the best pick & roll players in the league.

I like him running the offense while Lebron is on the bench. In fact, I would go as far as saying we will be dramatically improved there.

As for the Boston matchup, they win 1 game in a series against us. Nothing changed their. They moved Bradley, Thomas, Olynyk, & Crowder....thats their heart right there. They now have no one that can even slow down Lebron. Bradley & Crowder at least gave you a shot.

We now possess a scorn Cavs roster, a pissed off Lebron, a betrayed Crowder & a betrayed...and motivated Isaiah Thomas.

Never doubt the man that has something to prove.

This is a contract year for IT so I hope he stays healthy and kicks some doubters

Well if there's one guy that will unlock KLove's elbow game by running handoffs it's IT. We're getting an injured midget that's coming back with 70% of his lateral movement thanks to his hip tear but for all the offense we're losing with Kyrie, this guy will definitely enable Love to make up for some of it just by being a dominant off-ball assassin that brings out more of that dormant Minny KLove

How bad is this injury long term?

from previous reports Boston expected Thomas healthy with rest.

From I've read it sounds to me like the ligament equivalent of a stress fracture. He has a bone spur in his hip that continually shaves away at his labrum. He's always had these microtears but this time it got bad enough to be called a full tear. Apparently even if they shave it down his labrum will just continually get worn away. Maybe he recovers and can play just fine on it, but it sure sounds to me like he'll be dealing with it the same way Bradley Beal deals with his stress fracture

Kinda weird having two MVP candidates on the same team...
