I know that acoro has a problem with his perimeter shot. But watching him play defense reminds me of two defensive guards from the past. One of them would be Patrick Beverly. The other would be Bruce Bowen. Neither of them could shoot particularly well throughout their careers. But they were both very physical defenders and locked down the leading scorers of their opponents. What does everybody else think?

I like Okoro's ability to penetrate. He's very good @ it. His passivenes on offense @ times is worriesome, but I think he can improve on that area. His jumper doesn't look that bad.

He should be looking @ guys like Jimmy Butler & Kawhi Leonard. Both weren't known for their shooting, but were praised for their defense early on. I think if Okoro works hard, he could be a poor man version of those guys.

Isaac is still way too young to make those comparisons. He's 20 years old and played one year in college.

Patrick Beverley was 24 when he played his first NBA season. He spent two years in College, then a year not playing at all, then 2 years overseas before he made his NBA debut.

Bruce Bowen was 26 when he played his first real NBA season(not counting the 1 game he played at age 25). He spent four full years in college, two full years overseas, and then played in 1 single NBA game at age 25.

Somebody on another forum mentioned The artist formely known as Ron Artest. A little shorter , 20 Lbs lighter

Not sure if Okoro will pan out, but we often demand immediate impact from guys that are still very young. He will turn 21 in January. Davion Mitchell, by comparison, is more than 2 years older and benefits from all the improvement that goes with that.

Okoro will eventually become a knock down perimeter shooter. It might take a few years. But when that happens he'll be a pretty good asset.

Right now he kinda reminds me of a better version of good ole Devin Brown (SAS version)…. He is young though and by all accounts a very hard worker, hopefully he becomes much better and follow the Jimmy Butler trajectory… frustrating to watch at times, ideally he should be a bench guy as he gains more experience but JBB seems to be all in with him now that Sexton is done for the season

Gary Harris before he got contractitis

I thought Okoro was the achilles heel of this team. The last 4 games he is showing me up as being wrong. Garland wasn't anything special and now he's an All Star. I think the future for Okoro is very high.

I wanna see Okoro become the SG version of PJ Tucker. Reliable corner three, energy on the boards, hard nosed defense, and attacking closeouts for strong finishes. I don't think anyone expects him to become a star but he doesn't have to. We have three dudes with star potential already. If Okoro can be a great role player, man is this team in an amazing position.

Bruce Bowen was a career 39/40% 3point shooter so hopefully Okoro gets somewhere near that. Honestly I always though Pat Bev was overrated defensively.. just talks a lot of shit and can be hella annoying but I think Okoro will be much better defensively.

I'm not saying Okoro is Jimmy Butler but Season 2 to Season 2 (thus far) are pretty similar plus he's 2 years younger than Butler in season 2. There is significant room for improvement from Okoro. We will see what he turns into but I wouldn't worry too much about what he can't do right now...
