First off, my post wasn't directed at you at all. But here we go:
Because our offense was terrible for most of April and our bullpen was absolutely atrocious for most of May? Despite this, we have the 8th best record in baseball all the while "struggling to stay above .500"
Posting literal statistics makes me "a honk"? And people wonder why some people complain about the quality of this section.
Yes, both of those teams have looked better. Yet we both agree it won't take a miracle to beat either of them. The Astros in particular worry me much more than the Yankees though. The Yankees have a scary offense but their rotation out of Severino really has not been overly impressive.
Yes I agree, the playoffs aren't easy games.
In the end, the team's success relies on the production of Lindor, Ramirez, and Kluber. I think Jordan Bastian or maybe Jensen Lewis said Lindor/Ramirez account for 70% of the team's offensive WAR. Apart from Lindor's grand slam, both of those guys completely no-showed in last year's ALDS and the series still came down to the wire. And of course Kluber had 2 of his worst starts we've ever seen from him. As long as those guys can produce like normal, I like our chances in any series vs. any team.
