Jeff Green: Old

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I see Cavs have Jeff green bring the ball up the court too

Glad we picked this guy up. He’s turning into our Richard Jefferson minus the laughs

I thought he'd have a positive effect on this series, and so far he hasn't disappointed.

The three he hit when LeBron had to get rid of it before a travel was great.

He didn't have time to think before the the shot clock ran out.

Anybody know how his catch and shoot numbers compare to other scenarios?

Green came to the league as a jack of all trades and a master of none. When I watched him with OKC and Boston, he looked like a rotation guy who doesn't quite shoot or rebound the way you want a forward complimentary guy to, but his ball handling and mobility at that size can create different looks. Jeff Green in transition offense and defense has always been a plus.

The worst thing about Green his whole career, like RJ, was high expectations and high salary.

Green has actually become a more polished offensive weapon now that he is 31. He bottomed out in Orlando but quietly played well for the Clippers last year. Now that the noose of expectations and salary are gone, he's just a solid guy who comes off the bench bringing over 45 games of playoff basketball to the table. Experience is this teams' weakness, but not Green.

He has low key been our most important player these last couple of games. Having him out there consistently hitting shots allows us to play Kevin and not have him doubled while keeping LeBron at the 3 (the position he wants to play most). If our role players are going to show up moving forward, I really like our chances to at least get to the finals.

He has been a huge part of our success so far. It allows us to get mismatches and play better switching defense.

His offense has been way better than expected. He is actually hitting threes, drawing fouls, and finishing. It's weird because he is so up and down. He started out the year like he was our 2nd best player for a long time. Then he had a horrible streak where he was bricking every three, taking horrible shots, and getting beat on defense. Now in the playoffs, he has been solid for us again.

My hope is he doesn't hit rock bottom again. I just don't want it to get to a point again where the role players do what they did in Indiana. Or for the latter portion of the season. But time will tell.

6 threes is still too many for my liking, but 2 of those (both makes) came at the buzzer of the shot clock, so he had to take them. If he's taking 3 or 4 (tops), then fine.

Outside of that, they're just using him so much better, and his role makes far more sense off the bench than in the starting lineup. I don't know how many coaches would throw him at backup center or point guard, but those roles make so much sense given his quickness advantage in the former and his size advantage in the latter.

He's also been great making the extra pass on the wing when the Raptors hilariously stunt at him leaving JR or Korver open in the corners.

The dude can't even seem to happen the expectations of being a starter. But put him on the bench with vets and suddenly he blossoms.

To be fair I think his back was bothering him: he was playing like a RJ was 2 years ago for us and that's when the wheel came off a bit. Fucking Montrez Harrell who is clearly smaller then him just abused him in the post when I say him play the Clippers in LA and his shooting fell out right around when he was in an out of the lineup. Hoping he's doing whatever yoga and stuff Lebron is doing to keep that back healthy

Sans the failure to get back on D in the fourth, he’s continuing to have a big contribution on this series.

Got to make those free throws.

The buzzer-beater should have been unnecessary.

I recognize that at some level Green is the best we have for that role, but I think it's more because we lack a consistent 5, than anything. Sometimes his head is just not in the game, and I think physical defense throws him off.

Kareem's sky-hook, Hakeem's dream-shame, Dirk's one legged fadeaway and Jeff Green's clanked 3s.

Some of the most iconic plays in NBA history.
