Jordan McRae

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The fact that he hasn't been waived only assures me that Griffin knows he has enough interest to bring back a protected 2nd anytime he wants.

They were never going to waive him right now when we have already created one roster spot in the Hawks deal.

He will be moved later when we have something else brewing.

Either way, it should be clear by now that this guy has no business on our roster come season's end.

Don't act now like you all don't think he is terrible and has no place on the team. If he is here for the season then it's a bad decision.
If he is seen as a trade asset around the league and is traded then sure Griffin, surprise me.

As long as he's not playing in the rotation, and he won't, then it's not a huge deal.

I don't think the Cavs really value him much at all.

McRae has got a really lucky break. I really thought he was gonna get cut. But good for him. He has one more chance to prove that he can be a decent contributor in NBA. And honestly, no reason why he shouldn't be.

McRae has got the physical attributes to be a good NBA player. He is quick and has length for a guard. He is a good dribbler and can penetrate the paint decently. The issue with him is, he is fairly useless off the ball because he isn't that good a 3-point shooter. And when he has the ball, he rarely passes it. He constantly goes into ISO-mode. Thats why he doesn't fit into our starting line-up or even rotation.

If he can improve his 3-point shooting, he can be a decent role player here. I don't have much confidence of him improving that much but I trust the coaching staff. If they feel they can improve him and make him a decent role player, I am willing to give them time.

I most definitely disagree with the good dribbler comment. He's got a very uncomfortable looking handle like Shumpert does. If he was a good dribbler, he would've been getting some backup point guard minutes because of his ability to put the ball in the hole.

With that being said, you're right about his iso mode. He's always going to be an inefficient, one-dimensional gunner. He's nearly 26, so I think it's just what he is. There are a lot of guys down in the D League that could do the same thing given the same chance, in my opinion.

I think he can be thrown into a trade as sweetener. He would most likely go to a tanking team that can take the risk in giving him big minutes to see if he can take the next step.

As for on the Cavs if they don't move him, I think he has enough to give minutes in a pinch. He gives one more body before having to go to James Jones. If he is on the roster by time the post season rolls around hopefully he will be the 14th guy in terms of perking order.

Why is he still on this roster?

Also how did we ask Philly if they wanted to trade us McConnell for McRae with a straight face?

I feel like he will be added to Birdmans contract to a team looking to add salary. A tanking team can take a flyer on him to see if half a season of high minutes will result in him taking the steps to become a real NBA rotation player.

Griffin trying to see if the other GM's are paying attention, before he has to just outright dump McRae?

Philly didn't fall for the trick, sadly.

Birdman gone... all eyes on you now McRae..

Can someone explain why McRae is a more valuable trade piece over Liggins and Felder?
