One thing about getting Calderon is he wasn't recruited by LeBron so he will be free game to trade. Is his trade number 1.4 million or 2.3 million?

Due to our restrictions, we don't really have much room to work with but if Jose Calderon is the best back-up PG we could find, its just staright-up ineptness from the front office.

It's real odd that this is who we settle on in the first day of free agency. I think it came down to who was the best three point shooting PG available.

Personally I would have waited to see if we could get Shelvin Mack.

The thing I don't get is this.

We know GSW is the team we're building to beat, yet we maintain and just signed guys that can't sniff the floor against them? WTF is the point of that?

"We need bodies in the regular season". My retort to that is if you build a team that competes better against the best team in the league, are you really going to have a hard time beating the trash of the East?

It's very simple.. the FO should be asking if a player on the roster fits these two criteria..

1) Can this player help the team win against GS
2) If young, can this player develop into something that can help the team win against GS

If the player doesn't meet one of these two, they shouldn't be on th roster. Period.

That means Dhantay Jones, JJ, Frye, Felder, etc. do not belong on this roster. They're just wastes of roster spots.

But then we go out and sign more guys like this? WTF is the reasoning behind that? Our entire scouting department (you know if they were any good or if we were a good organization) should be combing the summer league trying to find guys that fit that second criteria so we can sign them to these roster spots.

Perhaps--we just have to give the man Billups the proper amount of time to decide on such an important thing so more time to think things through is in order. We should get a better idea after the 4th of July, the fall equinox, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's all pass and then wait to see if Punxsutawney Phil sees his fucking shadow or not to see where Billups stands.
