JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hope we don't rush him in at all.

We have solid depth now. The key is ensuring there isn't even 1% risk.

It would be nice to get him a solid month of games to get in shape before the playoffs though. Between the training camp holdout and this injury I'm thinking he might be pretty far from game shape.

Also to figure out the best way to work him in with our new acquisitions. Hopefully he will be back by mid-March.

If he is ready he needs in to get his shooting touch back and see how he meshes with the new faces.

I really keep think Shump will be add man out. Front court is loaded. Lebron, Kyrie, JR, Korver, and now Deron and Derrick. 6 man Front court rotatation is tough in playoffs much less adding shump in for a 7th?

Can't wait to see Kyrie and Deron at PF and C together on the court.

I have to believe he's in a better state of mind. His baby, by what I've read, is doing well and is healthy.
You can't discount how personal situations can throw you into a spiral.
Between him and Channing, they're had difficult years.
For JR, hopefully he can put that worry aside now and focus on basketball.

If JR is out there shooting and warming up before games, it's only a matter of time. I'd say sometime next week we get an update saying he could possible return and play a game this week, if not the following week.

As far as JR not being the same: Of course he has to go through a period where he needs to get back into basketball shape, he's got to find his groove, he has to get used to the new guys as well. It's a process that will take a few games, but he is one of the best shooters in the game today, and we are going to have a few lineups where he is out there with another deadly shooter in Korver, along with Ky and Bron I am sure for stretch.

It's vital that JR gets out there and plays a week or two before the playoffs. Some of us don't know how major that would be, because the first-round is also some time for him to get into the flow, considering the Cavs won't have much of an issue with their first-round matchup(hopefully, anyway).

Not only will his shooting being welcomed, but the man's defense was great at times for us last season, and some this year as well. Putting him out there will also improve the teams perimeter defense, which is welcomed as well.

Really can't wait till this team is at 100%.. It's going to be so fun to watch after the new guys Griff brought in. They fit so well, it's scary.

Sent from my Galaxy Edge. Don't forget that the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

Of course I don't want to see JR suspended for something stupid, but if he smacked the shit out of Dion I'd be yelling "AND-1"...
