JR is focused and playing in the moment which is a huge challenge for him. His D effort does make up for shots not dropping. Someone mentioned law of averages will kick in and vintage 5-7 JR from behind the arc .

EH he's had a few decent games too. After what he did in Game 7 last year I don't doubt his ability to pull through with a big game whatsoever. Iirc he had that huge Game 3 to kill the Hawks in 2015. I wouldn't be surprised if he kills the Pacers on Friday. You can't knock the defense though, he's been competing his ass off

Jokes aside I think JR is playing really hard and gives effort on defense, unlike Love who became completely useless and a net negative for the team JR is at least trying to do other things that can help the team win

One weird thing I’ve noticed JR doing in the last couple of games is that he gets the ball late in the shot clock and he starts dribbling and taking a contested long midrange jumper, he should go back to taking those contested threes in that situation, it’s just a smarter shot and hes shown throughout his career that he can make that shot.

For the money he's paid, its hard getting excited over an occasional one dimensional player.

Probably one of the best ways to defend JR is to give him 6 feet of room beyond the three point line, he seems to brick the wide open looks. Guard him tight and he seems to shoot a higher percentage.
