Can't believe there are 4 pages devoted to Kellen Winslow. Crazay.

See below:

In seven years of NFL football, he has 23 touchdowns. That would be just over 3 per season. He's had 13 in his three seasons with Tampa Bay, which isn't bad, but isn't stand-out. Comparing your guys' tweet, Tony Gonzalez has had 48 TDs over those seven years and 19 in the past 3 years with his new team. Antonio Gates has had 25 TDs in the past 3 years and 74 since 2004 (since his 2nd year in the pros). Just because a guy makes a lot of catches doesn't mean that he's a great player. It just means he catches the ball.

Here is a list of TEs that have performed better (in no particular order).

1) Tony Gonzalez
2) Antonio Gates
3) Jason Witten - 16 TDs in the past 3 seasons and 40 since 2004
4) Vernon Davis - 26 TDs in the past 3 seasons, 35 since his career started in 2006
5) Dallas Clark - 15 TDs in the past 3 seasons, 45 since 2004 (2003, he had 1)
6) Greg Olsen - 18 TDs in past 3 seasons, 25 since 2007
7) Heath Miller - Only 10 TDs in past 3 seasons, but 31 since 2005
8) Visanthe Shiancoe - 16 TDs in past 3 seasons, 25 since 2004
9) Todd Heap - Only 13 TDs in past 3 seasons, but 32 since 2004
10) Brent Celek - 17 TDs in past 3 seasons, only 19 since 2007

That is just 10 guys who've been around roughly as long as Winslow. This, mixed with the careless injury doing tricks on his motorcycle, his unwillingness to block, demand for the ball and personal fouls on the field tell me that this is more than a figment of one's imagination.

Not a single one of those are any evidence of him being a cancer in the locker room. He skipped OTAs, which a lot of vets do. Is Phil Dawson a cancer?! :chuckles:

The other one is an opinion piece trying to compare two teams.

If you wouldn't be upset about getting staph infection when, at that time, it was a huge issue with the organization, I would certainly question that.Calling out the team for staph infection also has nothing to do with being a cancer in the locker room.

Again...there is nothing out there of Kellen ever being a cancer in the locker room because it simply isn't true.

But he has been traded, so it's a dead topic.

You're either ignoring it or are some kind of Winslow apologist. I agree, though, dead topic.

I'm pretty sure that K2 played in 16 games every year for the Buccs. In 2009 he led the team in receptions and actually had more than the 2nd and 3rd guy combined. He led the team in receptions again in 2010. 2011? More of the same as he led the team in receptions once again. Now I'm not saying anything about how he acts to coaches, to his teammates, or to the media, but you can't knock his game too much.. K2 can play the game and in a better offensive scheme (not sure that seattle qualifies..); I'm sure that he would have put up top 10 numbers among tight ends.

I like our healthy tight ends, I do not like talented tight ends that play on one leg.

I liked when he'd get a 8 yard catch for a first down and then get a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty for taunting/celebrating to make it 1st and 25. He was awesome at that.

Without his injuries he could have been special. With them, he still had great hands to haul in passes but didn't have the necessary explosion to separate and make catches down the field. With more mileage on the tires, I'll take a pass.

5 pages and still going strong...

it's the off-season and there isn't much going on. It's not like this thread is pushing down lots of other valuable threads

K2 might have be better if he never did a wheeley on a bike and davis didn't use him in special teams.

I never had any problem with Butch using K2 on special teams. The object of the game is to win, not avoid injuries, and if Butch thought using K2 on special teams enhanced his chances of winning than he was absolutely right to do so. Sometimes shit just happens.

It wasn't like he used him on every special teams unit. If I remember correctly, the Browns had just scored against the Cowboys and Winslow was out there trying to recover an onside kick late in a game the Browns trailed by 7. I don't have a problem with your best ball skills players going after onside kicks. The Browns even recovered the ball on the play if I remember it right.

Former NFL Pro Bowl tight end Kellen Winslow Jr arrested for alleged burglary
By Benjamin Brown | Fox News

Former NFL Pro Bowl tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. was arrested Thursday afternoon for his alleged connection to a burglary at a mobile home park in California.

Authorities responded to a possible burglary call at Park Encinitas Mobile Home Park around 2:40 p.m., The San Diego Union Tribune reported.

A resident who called the police tried to confront the suspect, later identified as Winslow, before he allegedly fled the scene, according to the paper. Authorities were able to track down the vehicle and arrested Winslow.

The former NFL player was charged with first-degree burglary and was held on $50,000 bail, the paper reported. He faces up to six years in prison if convicted.

Winslow's father, Kellen Sr., is a Hall of Fame tight end who played nine seasons with the San Diego Chargers and is considered one of the greatest players to ever play the position.

Kellen Winslow Jr. was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2004, and despite a series of injuries that threatened to derail his career, the 34-year-old became one of NFL’s best tight ends during his time in the league.
