At first after glancing over it fast I thought it read represented by Harvey Weinstein. I was going to say wtf.
Typical response --- trying to defend a bogus point by pretending you made a different argument in the first place. This was your initial statement to which I responded:
Childhood trauma is not "massive head injuries", and psychologists are not medical doctors, and are not experts in the effects of massive head injuries. You want to study that, you need someone like a neuropathologist. And to effectively study it with any degree of specificity, you need to examine the brain itself after an autopsy. So if you'd proposed, "let's off this guy so we can hack his brain apart and see if there is anything to learn about CTE", then I'd have agreed. But that wasn't the point you made.
The fact he's had long-term head trauma is just another, if not a primary reason, we should be studying what is left of this dude's brain.
In any event, I still have utterly no idea how you think I was excusing his alleged crimes. But I do always enjoy your condescension.
Can't really do that while he's alive.
I didn't think you were excusing his crimes. I did think you were suggesting that some childhood trauma might mitigate them. To put it differently, we can't really study this guy's brain until he is dead. And if he's going to be locked up for the rest of his life, how does society benefit from him getting counseling? What difference does it make to us if he still wants to rape old ladies if he's locked up in prison and has no access to them?
The only thing I want for this guy is to spend the rest of his life locked up. If there's a way to shorten his life and study his brain, that's fine with me too.
He went AWOLCertainly conduct unbecoming a soldier.
