What most don't understand is theres many reports KD does not enjoy playing with WB. The okc crowd chanting MVP MVP to WB and not KD. Ect...
Please post these reports. And who gives a shit about a crowd chanting MVP? They've chanted MVP for KD and he's actually WON an MVP award.
You're trying to insinuate there's jealousy here because he has a superstar-level teammate based on literally nothing. Meanwhile, KD is doing things like having Russ
introduce him at his Oklahoma sports hall of fame induction. Sure seems like a guy who doesn't enjoy his best teammate...
Its more then just about winning, whether they were up 3-1 or not on GSW, they lost and a lot people seem to agree stuff like that is a franchise killer type stuff. He hasn't said he will be back with OKC yet, which speaks volume that he is going to hear pitches from teams at the least. Then he will decide...
Well, yeah, that's usually how this works. Free agents typically don't come out and commit to their team because then they lose any kind of leverage. LeBron's a free agent. Haven't heard him say he's coming back. Quick, someone sound the alarm!
Lamarcus Aldridge left Portland just last season after they had some decent playoff runs, some of these guys like a change of scenery and feel it can make them better players in the long run.
The Blazers made it out of the 1st round once in LMA's time there. By the end of last season, their third best player would be coming back from an achille's injury (also a FA), and their fourth best player had appeared to seriously regress... while also battling a ton of injuries. LaMarcus left that to go to a Spurs team that has Kawhi Leonard and is, well, the Spurs.
Meanwhile, Durant would be leaving a team with a top-10 level player. An incredibly promising 22-year-old center. And a pretty good supporting cast. A team that has been to the finals once, and the WCF three times. They've gone to the WCF every time they've been healthy, and even made it 2014 when Ibaka had that calf injury. The situations aren't comparable in the slightest.
Plus who wants to stay in the west with a 73 win team in the warriors?
Yeah, because the alternative is going to a conference to face a guy who's made the finals 6 straight years, and has two in their prime sidekicks doing a lot of the heavy lifting. The Thunder were 2 minutes away from beating that 73 win team. They literally took them to the brink.
And why do the Warriors winning 73 games THIS year factor into the future? Are the Warriors just going to keep getting better and better until they go undefeated? Unlikely. Its more likely that they come back down to Earth, for whatever reason.
Plus, where's he going to go? I keep seeing people throw out Boston, like it's some magical place where guys automatically win titles just for putting on the uniform. Hey, Boston won 48 games with a bunch of scrappy role players. Great! And they have the #3 pick? Swell! But superstar players in their prime don't leave the kind of situation KD is in for top 3 picks and Isaiah Thomas. Is there ANY team in the east that you can drop him on, and they're suddenly the favorite?
KD wants to be the "guy" , hes not in OKC. Very possible he bolts.
He IS the guy in OKC. He's the team's leading scorer and best player. Just because Russell handles the ball doesn't mean KD isn't the guy. It means Russ is the PG and he's doing what point guards do.
Sure, its "possible" he leaves. But not for any of the reasons you just laid out here.
