He was bad in game 5, the early fouls seemed to shake his confidence and he played tentative for the remainder. Up to that point I thought he had acquitted himself well in the finals, even in game 3 when he shot poorly his work on the boards and activity on d were a major part of a strong team performance.

If George is not feasible there is little point giving Love away for scraps, improve the bench, and stop leaning on Lebron so heavily. Lue has to improve.

Love is like the star punch in Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Wonderful weapon throughout the entire game but almost useless against the final boss.

He's a really good player. Agree Cavs shouldn't deal him unless its a real upgrade. Sounds like his value isn't all that high around the league unfortunately.

The bottom line is Love has to regain the physicality in the post like he had in Minnesota. He should be bullying guys like Klay and KD.

He's gotten stronger each year in Cleveland. Lets hope that continues.

Love is a 6'10 power forward who is great at rebounding and can knock down threes like a long lost splash brother.
He averaged more rebounds than KD in the final 3 games and shot a better percentage from 3 than Steph Curry in that span.
Imagine that, a PF who never touches the ball shooting better than a a two-time MVP PG who always has the ball every possession.
There is no Love "would be valuable if"...Love IS valuable.
Agreed... I'd obviously like a new shinny piece that would give us a different dynamic perhaps ?? But figuring out a way to add to the core with Love for the 17/18 season is not a thought that is leaving me devestated...

Not sure how true that five team trade is but knowing that PG and Melo could have gone here but no one wanted Love's contract is even more disappointing. How much truth was to that?

I don't believe for a millisecond that the league consensus is that Love is overpaid.

It can't be. These people aren't stupid, for the most part anyway. It's just that teams that could use a 28 year old All Star don't have the combination of picks and young players that we would have needed to get back for one of those three team deals. The teams that have those don't need him, they are still planning to suck for years yet.

Thats the Issue.. Neither IND nor CHI want Love straight up.. they want to rebuild. So we'd need to find that third Team that can offer multiple (high) First Round Picks and a decent young Player.. And as you said... there is no Team that has those assets that wants Love. While Kev is only just entering his Prime at 28 thats already way too old for a Team that is rebuilding themselves. If he was 25 it would have propably been different. But those Teams plan on beeing bad for another 5 years... It would be a bad idea to get Love now when even with him you only can be good once he is 33..

You don't want to se how valuable he WAS, do you? As in, cry when we don't have any quality big with him traded... You get PG for him and probably him and LeBron don't want to play the 4. Who will? TT? LoL
You lose him you lose C and PF scoring and rebounding at once.

I agree with this 100%. Who would play power forward? PG already didn't like it in Indy. We already know LBJ want do it for a whole game.

Someone did it on the trade machine so it must be true

I do believe Phoenix was willing to trade the #4 pick for Love. With their mix of talent and acquiring Love, they would be fairly competitive real quick. I just don't believe Chicago or Indy wanted to bank trading their star off for one draft pick. Chicago got 3 young players and none of them might have the star potential of Josh Jackson but they are playing the odds. If Josh Jackson is a bust they would never hear the end of it.

I still believe that Phoenix could be a partner in a Love trade. They have alot of overlapping talent at the guard and wing positions. Depending on how free agency and Josh Jackson looks in summer league, they should be more willing to include more to acquire Love as the summer goes on.

Agree. And I Love has not proven himself to be the type of player that is going to make an average team great. If you are close he can be a great piece but Golden State and Cleveland are so strong that few teams believe they are close enough that he can make the difference.
