So no butler no PG. Who else is there to trade love to that would upgrade us against the Warriors? Melos not happening. Boogie isn't going anywhere yet. I doubt the clippers are looking to move DJ now that Blake is back. Who else is looking to move their star player?
Golden state is already planning pick and rolling him to death for their 2 straight ring
Maybe he can go 1-9 in a close out game again
I think the number one priority is getting a real center that can actually protect the paint, something like a prime Mozgov worked really great on defense next to Love here, 2nd is getting a guy who can guard Durant and shoot wide open 3's.
I don't think you move Love now, I can't see how it makes the team better unless you somehow get a two way superstar for him which won't happen.
Feel like if OKC wants to swing for the fences, they might try to trade for Love, esp that they have lost Gibson... A lineup of Westbrook, Roberson, George, Love and Adams gives them a better fighting chance on the west... Just don't think they can package anything that would be attractive for the Cavs...

ESPIN pushing this notion the Cavs have to trade Love to Knicks for Melo, and NY would essentially be doing the Cavs a favor.
No way. He does not move the needle in clevelands favor without Love. Send his ass to Houston and let him get swept by GS.
The numbers just don't work for us in a trade IMO. Melo makes too much.
In a buyout? Absolutely but we'd have to trade every useful bench player we have to match Melo's salary (Shump + Korver + Frye + Filler +Cedi?). We'd need a 4th player to not take on even more tax money.....and we're just swapping guys who can't play against GSW for a guy who maybe can't play against GSW. It's garbage out garbage in for me.
Plus, we'd be left with like a 6.5 man rotation with two players with a ton of miles on them (LeBron / Melo). Maybe we could fill out the roster with rings chasers but man, that's scary from a depth perspective.
Cavs only need to send out Shump, Frye, RJ and Tavares to match salary for Melo. Shump was nearly salary dumped, and Melo largely replaces Frye and completely replaces RJ.The numbers just don't work for us in a trade IMO. Melo makes too much.
