Houston is a kind of team who would be interested in Kev and in D'Antoni's system he will thrive a lot as well. Eric Gordon + Clint Capela for Kevin Love? I would do that deal happily but doubt Houston would!

Dunno. Capela is very nice and has improved dramatically, but isnt he due for an extension? He is going to get tons of money and i'm not sure I want to give him that. I'm also not sure what he does for us against GSW.
We need some kind of a stretch 4/5 to replace Kevin with. Crowder can play the 4, but is it enough?

Eric Gordon is a chucker that works in Houston, but i'm not sure how it's going to work on our team with the pace that we play with. His misses are going to be more critical in slow paced game and his defense aswell. He works well in a high paced offense.

Yeah I'm really not sure Love sticks around past the deadline this year.

He's just a weird fit on this team.

He's not a 5. Can't protect the rim at all.

He just seems to end up as a stretch 4 no matter what Lue says about getting him involved more etc.

I mean he's far better than Ryan Anderson but if you put Ryan Anderson on this team, I'm not sure how much difference there would be simply because of how we use Love.

And we know he doesn't exactly light up GS.

So if something was out there, I think its possible he could be moved.
well ryan Anderson doesn't rebound, so yeah, there would be a huge difference.

Are you out of your mind? Houston would laugh us off the phone with that offer

Love never played alongside a Center that complemented his skillset other than Mozgov. Pekovic was not a good rim protector.. and he wasn't much of a defender either.

Love is just used as a role player here of the lowest degree. Why don't we see dribble hand-offs, big to big screening, etc? It's bullshit... but that's on our coach and even Lebron.

These are possibly the only two defenses I can agree with when it comes to Love. I've always believed his skill set could be maximized next to a true dominate defensive minded center. I mean he and Gobert would be a match made in heaven.

Kevin's short chart.

I don't think Lue has been looking to run plays for Love since the first couple games of the season. They were trying to run the offense thru him at the top of the key at the start of the season and went away from it. I think Lue is overwhelmed with trying to figure out how to get everyone else involved. He knows Love and the plays that work for him, they will come back to them when shit settles down.

Just saying RA is a spot shooter and that seems to be how we revert to using Love. I said Love is far better.

Ideally we can add a C.

Watching the Thunder game... man what I’d do to get Steven Adams.

Yeah they’re basically the same player on offense. And just as useless on defense. We’d have to get Ariza in that deal tho.

Seeing how he works hard to stay in proper position in this switching defense I think we should either get hima a proper Center to defend hos back or at least good SG defender.
Give Z some actual action time with Love maybe?

In a perfect world we trade down to draft Adams and then trade up to get Giannis in 2013.

Weve incorporated more opportunities for him to make plays from the post but when it comes to post scoring we shouldn't cater our offense to his style because it's simply not worth it. Post ups are essentially the bigman's Iso ball.

Telling LeBron and everyone to stay camped outside the paint so Love can take contested hooks or fadeaways isn't something coaches will feature heavily in an offense especially because it comes at an opportunity cost of running something more fluid. Would be different if his post scoring game was polished with a repertoire of pumpfakes and up and under moves we could trust to create cleaner looks.

You also can't post him up against bigger 4s and 5s or he'll get his shot blocked or heavily contested. His post scoring opportunities are heavily dictated by how many times he gets crossmatched onto a smaller guy in a game, (and even then he gets stripped on occasion). Those pushing for more Love touches need to see the team isn't making a concerted effort to freeze him out of games.

I think this is just mainly Lue not being creative enough again. We should be able to get Love shots in the paint without an iso Post Up. He's great when he's scoring on the move. Whether that's in the post or at the three point line.

Post ups being the big mans iso is a perfect description. The only time love should ever shoot in the paint is off a rebound. He loses the ball too much or gets his shot blocked way too often. There’s nothing wrong with love shooting 3s primarily. That’s the league we’re in now. It’s different than 2012 when he was in Minnesota. Stay at the 3 point line. There’s plenty of guys who only shoot 3s and don’t bother with stupid ineffective shots. Be more like klay Thompson on offense.

He is playing out of position. He is not a C and being asked to play this role. For Love to be his best he has to be a 4 and when he does play the 5 it is against a team going small. You can tell he does not know where to be. In the past when you had Love at the 5 you had a PG in Irving who could go ISO or if he did pass was a three point threat. Right now when you start Love at the 5, only him and JR are threats from outside, last year you had Irving. I would not be supprised if Love looks better once IT gets back.

So the Cavs score 130 and our "#2" takes a whopping 5 shots in 26 and a half minutes. Way to step up and take charge, Kevin.

I still think we use him poorly, but I am getting a little tired of Kevin just accepting this, too.

He needs more alpha in him, he's being too fucking nice. I mean come on, Kevin, get fucking mad.

Start demanding the ball, voice frustrations. Stop being so "do whatever the team wants" mentality.

Because what the team actually needs, is him being more involved.

Sometimes I think he is just willing to accept this, too, and I don't like it.

He's an all-star player. I don't think he's washed up. Maybe he's not quite the player he once was, but he's not virtually just a glorified role player either.

I really want Kevin to get mad and start showing it more. I think he's just being too nice and selfless at this point.

There's no KYRIE, there's no IT right now. Rose is NOT, and should NOT, be the second guy. No offense to him, yes, he played well last night.

It's just frustrating that he's not willing to demand more, either.
