I would trade Love because I don't think he's going to get better with age. He's already way too limited physically to play the position he plays.

His defensive ceiling has been tapped, and it was really, really low. This dude originally when he was a big-boy, hed seemed like a physical rough you around type of bully down low.

Ever since he became a Banana Republic model, he won't even attempt a contest. Won't even attempt it!

No hard fouls, zero contest, he just watches people go past him.

Yes, he's physically limited, but he also is also at the heart of our defensive problems. I wish Love had 1/10 of Laimbeer dirtyness to foul the fuck out of somebody so they don't keep "trying you" at the rim. He's the biggest defensive cupcake I have ever seen.

Great teammate, CHAMPION. A Cleveland sports legend truly, final piece of our real big 3, trading Wiggins etc.....

Love is always welcome in Cleveland, but he's our remaining attractive piece, his salary will start looking worse and worse....

I have enjoyed his game, he's always a champion; but this team is definitely not going anywhere and I'd go scorched earth policy and just shake it the fuck up.
I agree with the premise of your post, but to say his contract looks worse is ridiculous. Of I wasn't about to board a flight is probably be able to pull 20+ contracts. He is an elite rebounder and shooter. Great passer and post game. His defense isn't great but he is completely mis-used on offense and not a single teammate plays defense. Forcing him to be the rim protector he is not.

Even if you take Woj's word as gospel it doesn't sound like that's what they're doing at all. It sounds like they had a team meeting and Love's mysterious illness was one of many things brought up.
But it's the name that was highlighted. So if there is a agenda it worked.
You didn't see any other name brought up, even though the issues started well before this incident.

Where's the defensive effort been?
Where is JR?
Why is he still in the starting lineup?
Where is Frye?
Where is Lebron?
Why has he been playing crapping sloppy ball?
Where is this team really at?

Calling out people for not giving effort and shitty play is one thing. Those are things you hear about around the NBA. Calling out someone for faking sick is on another level - I don't remember ever hearing teammates on the professional level calling out another player for tapping out and faking sick.

Lol, now LBJ can’t play bad for 2 weeks while this soft white ass has been awful for 3 years already!

Amazing they attack this guy. How about JR “I fucking stink” Smith, or Jae ‘I can’t play defense’ Crowder, or Isiah ‘I miss Boston soooo much’ Thomas, or Tristan “My head is in Kardashian pussy” Thompson??

Instead single out the white guy. Shocking.
Unnecessary to bring up his race

So in typical RCF fashion you totally trash Love and express your continued desire to trade him, then drop in the mandatory gratuitous back-handed compliments at the end of the post.

Check.

Kind of surprised Love is suddenly getting defended here given that you guys all thought he was faking it back on Saturday as well. Look back at posts 21658, 21659, and 21660. This was also a theme during the game thread. Why are you suddenly acting like you didn't think the same things? You all had the same hot takes.

I will admit that it did seem weird that he got sick so quickly, given that he had been practicing vigorously beforehand. I'd hate for him to have made up the whole thing; I hope it isn't true. But for fans to get all defensive on him all of a sudden when you were making the same observations during and directly after the game is rather laughable.

Granted, it might have been only one name/situation mentioned in this team meeting, but singling out Love for the team's problems is ridiculous. They've been an AWFUL defensive team all year. LeBron has been bad, and I've heard the team fares better when he's off the floor this year (again, may be who he's paired with most of the time as well), JR has been one of the worst SGs in the league this year, Rose sucks and doesn't play much, Crowder is awful and is wayyyy out of position, TT bites anymore and has been hurt, IT's been hurt all year and also sucks defensively. The only guys who appear to have made a positive impact are Calderon and some of the bench guys, who have had to save the starters' asses all year long. How often did we see a huge deficit during the first quarter, only to have the second unit come in and bring us back? Virtually every game until the losing streak now where Lue tinkered and took Frye out for TT, screwing up the chemistry of the second unit. The fact is, the starters on this team have played like garbage all year. The team is a mess, and really might be time to blow it up.

So who do we think is the mole here giving Woj his bombs? It's known that LBJ's camp does not talk to him. Maybe Isaiah Thomas? Then again him and Love were teammates when they were younger so I don't know

I think this needs repeated....

Our biggest issue on the defensive end, is not having a back-end "big" who can contest at the rim, but also also quick enough to play in "pick and roll" defense.

You look at GS with Jordan Bell starting at Center. He's smaller than Love, yet he's playing Center fine in NBA, because he's a quick twitch athlete that has good feet and can contest at the rim.

Our wing defense should be better, no doubt.....but not having any back-end support is crushing. It's a lay-up line.

And unfortunately TT is a step slower and plays even more below the rim than he used too. It's a bad spot for the Cavs to be in.

Love's performance last one month has been frustrating as hell and while there have been times, especially in the NBA Finals where I have been disappointed with his performances, calling him out and questioning the legitimacy of him feeling unwell is just sad. Just shows how chaotic it is right now.

Its ok to criticize Love for his performances or want him traded as he ain't the best match-up against the Warriors but he deserves nothing but respect from the Cavs fans and the organization. He has always been the one who sacrificed the most in this team. Be it in terms of touches and shots in the offensive end or playing in a position where he doesn't like at all.

I'd like to hear from all the Love homers... what do you realistically think his value is on the trade market? Just curious
