Kevin Love Trade Ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Love while propably a bit overpaid for his role simply is a winner.
He is the ultimate Team guy who willingly sacrificed Stats/All Star Games, etc to play for a Title Team. He didnt NEED to resign to a 5 year deal with us. He could have said "Nah.. this sucks beeing the 3rd Guy.. and with GSW in the way we wont win anyway.. i'll go to a Team where i am the Man again"
Nope Love wants to win and is willing to sacrifice ALOT.

Also his Game 7 performance speaks for itself. At that point he was totally out of the Series.. had no rythm.. yet he came in and annihilated GSW on the boards, hustled, defended and hell even absolutly owned the CENTER!!!! Position.
With Love at Center we suddenly had a new lineup to throw at GSW and they couldnt really handle it. Shooting at all Positions without sacrificing Rebounding. Thats something not even GSW can do with their small ball lineup.
Oh and "the Stop" on Curry.. i dont wanna hear again how he is a liability on defense. Yes he might never be a statistically good defender but he plays with heart and effort. Thats enough for me.

Love totally has won me over and his Spacing,Rebounding,Passing are absolutly not replacable on our Team.

Now of course if suddenly the Kings offered us Cousins or a simillar deal comes up.. we have to consider it.
But Love is so crucial for us that i wont even trade him for a guy like Butler. The Bulls would have to throw in some interesting Pieces( any combination of at least two of Mirotic,Portis,Lopez,Valentine). We just have won the title against the supposedly best Team of all time... We are in NO rush at all to trade Love.
We have no reason right now. Before the Finals Love averaged 18/11/3 and looked truly like an All Star. Maybe with a full training Camp under Lue he can average this on the season?
We can be the demanding ones right now. If someone wants Love they can expect to bleed for it. The only way i would consider Trading Kevin is when we CLEARY substaintially get better in the process. If its basically a latteral move.. no thanks.

I get it.

I'm the very rare breed that A) Didn't think Kevin Love was a top 5 player, B) Pretty much expected exactly what he's given us and C) Still wanted to do the trade.

I am quite content with how things have turned out.

Agree on all accounts. I'll also add, I think he still has a lot of improving to do with this team, and the chemistry of our big 3 in general still has a higher ceiling than what we've seen.

And I don't think any of this depends on Love getting bigger. Aside from adding a healthy amount of muscle as he continues his recovery from injury, too much weight will kill his longevity for this team.

Only point I'd add is that Love gaining lean muscle should improve his longevity and reduce the risk of injury.

Him getting substantially bigger, in a healthy and lean manner and such that he's no longer at a mass/strength disadvantage at the PF/C position, is very good for both himself and the team.

Yup.

The right weight.

Some upper body, more core, lots of legs

I guess I will be the asshole to bump this thread. With Kevin's back issues(again) and the possibility he is a liability in the finals got me wondering what we could get for him if the Cavs do fail in June. His stock obviously improved this year.

Jimmy Butler was the favorite when KD went to the Warriors but did Butler play his way out of that possibility?

I am not really that good with trade proposal's/value so I thought I'd ask you guys what do you think we could realistically get for Kevin Love after after the season?

I think we will trade him if we don't win the NBA Finals and Kev doesn't have a good series against the Warriors again.

But, I think we shouldn't be thinking so far ahead as of yet. Kev has earned the benefit of the doubt and I am still quite confident that he will do well against the Warriors.

I would swap Butler for Love right now even with Love's vastly improved play, but that has more to do with LeBron than Love.

LeBron's next natural progression in his career and his most efficient position is also Love's best spot: the 4.

Having Butler at 3 with LBJ at 4 for years to come? Lol good game you aren't beating that.

Yeah, if that trade is on the table you do it yesterday.

But Chicago would probably rather get those Nets picks and start a rebuild.

Fortunately for us Danny Ainge values Butler at around Avery Bradley and a second round pick.

But why would Chicago?
I would agree with this, but I don't know why they ever talked about moving Butler in the first place. So it's hard to rationalize with a move that I think it irrational in the first place

I as much as anybody want us to win another title with Love playing like a superstar.

But if it doesn't happen, I think LeBron is going to take a long hard look in the mirror and realize that if wants to optimize what's left of his prime and the team's contention window he needs to move permanently to the 4.

Butler has been on the table a couple times since last year, but Chicago really has no incentive to make that move. The only way it happens is if he continues to express displeasure in Hoiberg's approach and the direction the team is heading.

I've wanted Butler for years though. He can't space the floor or rebound like Love but he's an elite defender (when it comes to perimeter guys, probably the best in the league after Kawhi) and another guy who plays like a superstar in big minutes. LeBron can rest a little easier if he not only has Kyrie but Butler to pass to with the game on the line.

Do you guys think Paul George could be a possibility or you think he would be untouchable?
