Jason Kidd will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and the Cavaliers could be a fit for the veteran point guard.

"I could sit and watch from the bench," Kidd said. "[LeBron] is so talented, he's going to get guys wide open shots. So we'll look at free agency and what happens for me next year."

They will have their mid-level exception ($5 million) and their bi-annual exception ($2 million) they could use on outside free agents.

He would look pretty nice off the bench with Boobie.

I wouldn't mind signing him and letting him run our 2nd unit. Would be pretty awesome. Plus he can guard bigger players efficiently...unlike boobie. But idk if Ferry wants to add a 4 PG...but ya never know.

Kidd off the bench teaching boobs and Mo
running the second unit
shooting big shots

i wouldnt mind signing him for around 3 mil

Wow. Was not expecting to see something like this from Kidd ...

Kidd actually looked good guarding lebron today. I would love him for the 2nd unit and let Boobie shoot.

He could teach mo and west alot. I'd like him for just that reason add in he could give us depth that would be great. Him and Lebron seem close so maybe it will happen. The cavs dont have to give up anything so thats a big plus.

Would obviously be interesting because Kidd and LeBron have always wanted to play with each other but I just don't really see it happening. It could probably be done as West and Gibson are able to play as 2's, but I'm not sure if that's what Ferry has in mind. I guess we'll wait and see.

If he would take the pay cut (I think he would get bigger offers) I would be A-OK with signing him to the bi-annual (or vet's min :D) and keeping the MLE around for whatever big gets bought out.

Adding Kidd would be tremendous, but we have to resign Andy and see what we can do with Ben as well.

Our bench would be pretty amazing if we could have him, Andy, and Boobie out there (plus maybe Wally and Joe if we keep them around).

Even if he can't provide much on the court, he would be a great asset to the team in terms of teaching

The best thing about this news? Top-tier free agents actually are thinking about taking pay cuts to join the Cavaliers.

That, my friends, is a signal that we have freaking ARRIVED.

IF Kidd is willing to take a very low paycut to play along side LeBron James, and the rest of The Cavaliers... I'm all for it, honestly. He'd be coming in here having to know his role will be limited, as well as his pay.

I think he'll get better offers, as stated.. It'll probably come down to if he wants to win more than get paid, which I'm sure he'd rather win.. But a lot of money, and a bigger role is very difficult to pass up on.

kidd is perfectly what we need on the 2nd unit... unless dwest moves to the bench.

him running the point (NO MORE BOOBIE PG!!!) and boobie at the 2 gaurd is perfect, then him gaurding 2 gaurds and boobie on pgs.

i like it.
