Luke > Sasha as well... The passing and ball handling seperates them..

For tonight, that seems to be the case. Sasha is kind of drifting because the game is out of reach and isn't hustling that hard. But Luke is really trying out there.

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

Sorry I hate losing to anyone in anything, even if it's the defending champs...I just can't stand it, I'm never content with a loss...oh well maybe I'll get more patient as I age...after this is over and I check scores around the league I'm taking 2 nyquil and turning in...I'm sick as hell...better not be the bird flu..

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

Looks like Donyell is out with a strained calf muscle...this is gonna be tough if he is out an extended period of time...anyone know the recovery time typical on a calf strain?

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

CDT.. There are only 3 teams in the league that will handle us with ease..

SA
IND
DET

Poor defensive teams will have trouble with us.. But great team defense will hurt this team.. With the exception of Detroit, just because of their poor offense..

Imo, the Cavs need to play a free flowin' up and down game... Teams that play the uptempo game will be our style..

We don't have the interior defense to play the halfcourt...

ZySlowness Ilslowness is primarily the reason for that..

LOL!

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that your about 14 years old....

I find it funny you called him 14, and said "your" instead of "you're".

Only a 14 year old would do that. :thumbdown

I'm only joking around.

Re: Cleveland @ San Antonio

that was a joke, get on national tv and get blown out. wasted my friday night to see this game, and all i did was get pissed.

they are the champs for a reason, we still got a long way to go. :thumbdown

Did we play tonight ?

But you know what, we still have 1 of the 5 best shooters on the planet in the Wine & Gold

That 2nd half performance was pathetic. I don't care that it's the Spurs and only the 2nd game of the season. There's no excuse for that type of play.
Cavs fell into some of their bad old patterns. Poor rotations on D and one on one play offensively.
I can't put the total blame on Z for Duncan's 2nd half performance. He got no help from his teammates. Also Z shouldn't be forced to be the primary defender whenever the Cavs play a team with a top notch PF. It's been that way for 3 years. It says more about the defensive ability of Boozer and now Gooden that Z is forced into those matchups.
Gooden and LeBron still looked lazy tonight on rotations. That has to pick up and they have to give a consistent effort there.

Will Eric Snow score this season? He better be a shutdown defensive player if he going to provide zero offensively.

It was a nice effort for the last 20 minutes of the 1st half but I don't know what happened in that 2nd half. It is just one game but the Cavs better bounce back tomorrow with a much better effort.

No one deserves any player of the game votes tonight.

Also- i thought lebron was going to be number one in three points? what happened? After wednesday, and him saying he worked so much on his threes over the summer i expected a few each game...

I am actually fine with that.. I don't want him falling in love with the 3...

Keep attacking the basket, and working of the post up...

"THE KING" get uber excited when he's in the post.. He almost tries to do to much in it...

Great first half. I applaud them for that. Awesome team D, good execution the offensive end.

But then they crumbled. No offense. Crappy, scrappy defense. Tony Parker running circles. No good adjustments.

Z did awful this game. If he did better we would have this one. But Z was the X-factor, the anchor in this game. The box score may not show it, but he's chuckin random shots all over the players now. Whatever the tongue.. Go cavs!

OK my player summary;

* LeBron James : Played hard, but forced his offense. Bowen definately won this matchup. Not blaming LeBron here, as he made some tremendous plays. I just have the bar set high for him.

* Larry Hughes : Looked good, but the ball just would not drop. After this he seemed to go into his shell when we needed help. Not a great start to his Cav career.

* Zydrunas Ilgauskas : Played good defense on Duncan. Jump shot not fallling but was tireless in the paint. Spurs had numbers on Z, and really allowed no second chances for the big unit.

Drew Gooden : Man this guy confuses me. He makes these tremendous plays at both ends. But he just makes bad defensive decions. He is clueless on the pick'n'roll. He tried very very hard and tried to spark us. A for effort, execution B on some occasions and F on others.

Eric Snow : Defensively his usual solid self. At least attempted some shots, but needs to find his niche. Forced Parker to work at one end only.

Donyell Marshall : Played good defense and was active on the boards. Unfortunately like most the squad fell short on offense.

Damon Jones : Tried his heart out to spark the offense to little success. Was abused by parker at the other end. Looks like a 2 guard out there.

Sasha Pavlovic : Looked ok in his first stint, but no shots came his way. Worked hard off the ball. Did little in garbage time.

Zendon Hamilton : Really makes things happen. Very uncontentional, but moderately successful.

Alan henderson : Was extremely transparent out there.

Luke Jackson : Looked energetic in minutes but the game was a scrapfest in his time on court. Still hasn't done anything to jump past Sasha on the rotation.

Mike Wilks : Effort was there, but looked out of his depth. maybe it was returning to San Antonio and the whole ring thing.

Mike Brown : Seemed to accept everything. A tad concerned with that.....anyways.....
