Clippers Notes

* This will be the 4th game of a road trip for the Clippers, so we could stomp this team while they're tired. They're easy pickings for a consistent ballclub, but we are wildly inconsistent right now.

* Dunleavy has finally put the Clippers back in their most efficient rotation, after trying to force Livingston as the starting PG early on. Cassell is now running the point again, so they're dangerous again.

* Tim Thomas is on a tear, surprisingly, playing an amazing all-around utility role and shooting around 50% over the last 7 games.

* Elton Brand is his usual workhorse self in the post and on defense.

Cleveland Key Points

* Make free throws. Make free throws. Make free throws.

* We need to settle the rotation back down. The best possible move of starting Gibson has backfired as we're trying to force Sasha into meaningful minutes at the same time. The result has been total chaos.

* I don't know what else predict about this game, since Snow, who should be the defensive anchor off the bench, is only the 9th man. There's no continuity if Brown keeps him down that far.

Mike Brown Gameplan Keys

*Get control of your team before you lose them.

* Monitor our perimeter defense closely, this should dictate how many minutes we need to use Snow.

Kyp's Prediction: Cavaliers 108 Clippers 103- Overtime

Cannot emphasive enough how important it is to get some wins up, particulary at home. Surely with all the hoopla with our offensive schemes, the players will have something to prove. I hope this translates into a victory.

Nice preview Kyp!

Fixed ...

Clippers lost a tough one in NY last night, Cavs have been rested since Sunday.

No excuses tonight.

Lebron hasn't broke 40 this year. His critics are out in full force....at home....rested...i feel a monster game.

I think we need to go into Z more often like we were when we were winning 9 of 11. During that stretch Z was getting 13-15 shots a game and it drew attention away from Lebron. In this miserable 14 game stretch he has gone back to being a picker up top and usually only gets looks on the perimter. He has had under 10 shots in 9 of the last 14 games....5 or less FG attempts 5 times during this stretch! Get him back down low and get it into him. He's shooting 48% over the last 14 games so it's not like he's struggling from the field, he's just not getting nearly enough looks.

There have been quite a few meetings in the last few days between individual players/coaches/mgmt. It will be interesting to see how everyone responds. Lebron told coach in a meeting that he wants to run more, coach told Lebron he can run more but he wants more defensive stops...will they each get a little more of what they want? Should be interesting.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but this is a critical game.

Yeah. It was hard writing the game preview since I can't tell where the team's heads are. It's good to hear about the player/coach meetings, I think they were due to air out some dirty laundry. It would be great if Lebron came out with some serious attitude and just dominated, and even better if Larry got things going early.

Side note: Doug Christie is on a 10-day contract with LA, he's supposed to get the 2nd one today or tommorrow. I would say he'll help their team's defense (great at stepping into passing lanes, individual defense solid), but if they're not using Aaron Williams more for defense I don't know Dunleavy is thinking. Anyway Christie is in the rotation right now. I wouldn't be surprised if Williams gets put in specifically on AV either.

If the Cavs don't come out and get a win tonight than they deserve every bit of severe criticism that might come their way.

Recent issues should have players coming out and playing strong and aggressively all night. Cavs are playing a west coast team on a road trip who played last night.

Like blueseats wrote earlier---no excuses.

Very often when I look at the pre-game matchups the huge advantage seems at small forward where Lebron is supposed to destroy his opposite number. Same again tonight.
But then the Kaponos of the world largely neutralize him.
Tune in tonight to see if there are further developments.

Should I start cassell or Al harrington or Sam Dalembert tonite?

Karma has left work 5 hours early to be home for this one.

Do not disappoint..........again.......please.

Lets Go Pavaliers

They better bring it tonight...I bet a heavy 450 vBookie on the home team tonight. Come on Cavs~
