Matt LaPorta and Luis Valbuena get their chance to shine. Joe Smith to the DL, looks like nothing too serious. Graffanino, Crowe sent packing. Oh, and that Barfield guy is coming back up, if anyone cares.

I'd assume that Peralta is going to get a couple of days off, along with Ben Fran.

Graffanino was DFA. They needed another infielder, and with Crowe going down for LaPorta, they needed another late game pinch runner. Granted, Valbuena is an IF too, but we were short a position player, and with Grady, Choo, Fran, LapOrta and Dellucci on the roster, we didn't need an outfielder.

Fairly certain that they didn't get to Detroit in time. They said the first flight out of Charlotte was canceled, so...who knows?

I like how our pitchers get two quick outs then struggle
