Larry Sanders Show anyone?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
One coach killer is enough. I hope Larry Sanders gets the prescription he needs, but no GM should touch that contract for the next 3 years.

The guy reminds me of a Andrew Bynum type mentally. Always pretends to care so he still make that money.

Per Rotoworld:
Larry Sanders said it's "not true" that he doesn't want to play basketball any longer, but he's still "working through the root of a lot of [personal] issues."

"I’m definitely making progress," he said. "I’m trying to get to the root of a lot of issues and get them corrected going forward. Without these things being corrected, I don’t think basketball would be something I could even do." We wish Sanders all the best as he deals with whatever issues are plaguing him. He's missed the Bucks' past six games and it's unclear when he might return, though he was at least back with the team on Tuesday, wearing a suit on the bench.

Really pullin for the guy as a genuine human being. I have personally been through some major issues recently and I can totally understand him taking time to help himself and to get himself right mentally. Big prayers up for him and whatever he is goin through

I still don't know how we haven't traded for this guy yet... :chuckle:

How the fuck is he still in the league? Can't you only be suspended "X" amount of times for drugs?

Really stole that 40 million he signed for a couple years ago. Larry is going to forever be the poster boy for showing out in a contract year lol

Quit making the guy out to be a criminal just because of some off the court issues. We don't need another choir boy. We need someone with an edge, dammit!

Looks like he was trying to take the edge off, though.

The terms of his suspension, he needed to complete his treatment program and would be suspended a minimum of 10 games. He's already served the 10 games so it's all about him completing whatever the treatment program was/is.

If he is able to play this year the Cavs should be first in line for him. He's the exact type of player we want at center. He's a complete knucklehead but he's gonna be on his knees in order to get a contract. The Cavs have an opportunity to grab a huge talent at bargain basement pricing as well as have significant leverage over him if he were to screw up again. Low risk high reward type signing.

Plus we can probably get him for not only this year but have an option on him for next season as well.

Look maan if he gets his head right. Look out. He was a tremendous defensive big. He can bring something great to this team with just trying on defense. Nobody won't ask him to score etc. Like Tristan he can shine on that assignment. Also he already cashed out, he wouldn't ask a big big contract. Makes perfect sense to me as the 4th big. He may even crack the starting spot imo. You should just take this risk

No.

People always trying to pretend team cancers will change here. They won't. Andrew Bynum didn't. LeBron James joining the team didn't change Dion Waiters. And Larry Sanders is going to still be Larry Sanders. No reason to bring in a ticking time bomb like that on a team that is just now finding a groove.

This is a no brainer to me. Yes, absolutely.

Bynum was on an awful team with a crappy coach. I'd say there were mitigating circumstances with him. Waiters + LeBron is a fair comparison, though Waiters was actually a HIGHER character guy than Sanders.

To me, you take the chance because of what the reward side could give you and because the team has enough high character on it that it would likely outweigh anything negative Sanders could bring the table.

All of Sanders' issues I heard have been personal. It had nothing to do with his teammates and I haven't heard anything to suggest he was bad in the locker room. So he isn't like Dion. Has his problems none the less, but that is different.

Sanders got suspended for marijuana. Birdman did meth and child porn and was a very important part to the Heat winning a championship. If we believe Sanders has had his wake up call and is ready to turn a new leaf and play the best basketball of his life, this could be the perfect opportunity for us. Playing winning basketball could put an extra hunger in him. Look what it did for JR.

Sanders reportedly had physical and verbal altercations with his teammates (and that bar fight) the year before and has had screaming matches with Kidd in front of the team.

I mean, he was really good in that contract year but ever since then you haven't seen that guy on the floor. I'd be ecstatic if he suddenly turned it around but there really isn't anything to suggest that a light bulb flicked off.

I'd love to be wrong though...
