This is amazing. I wonder who he was talking to? Didn't seem directed at Draymond.

Wow forgot about the cowboys loss the day before

No wonder the King had no giveafuck for the game

Godamn cowboys

maybe I'm mistaken but it appears the Cavs "backup plan" is playing LeBron at the 5. (We can say Love is at the 5, but typically we've seen LeBron take the big such as Brook Lopez a cpl wks ago).

I don't doubt LBJ's ability to guard centers. Indeed I'm kinda psyched by it. It seems to me that DG & Cavs have decided that Warriors are best beat at their own game, with no real big. LBJ can certainly rebound like a center. So maybe no big deal.

But it is honestly super curious nobody is talking about this, and Griff essentially saying, No LeBron we're not getting a big, you're playing the 4, and the 5 in a pinch.

Given that LeBron is the greatest trump card in basketball I think it's a canny play, but still feel you need one more big because you really can't afford to wear LBJ down. His driving at the end of the game keys the offense (unless Kyrie can get better at finding others, like he did for that spurt in December.)

Something we did for stretches in the 2014 finals....we ran LeBron at the 5 guarding Bogut, with Shumpert on Draymond, Miller/Jones on Barnes, JR on Klay, and Delly on Curry.

It was only for spot minutes, but it was interesting. It looked OK but you could tell the guys just didn't have any feel for it, especially compared to the Warriors who actually play small.

But LeBron has guarded centers for years...he's guarded Bogut in recent finals series and Miami had him guard Tiago Splitter when they faced San Antonio. He also had regular season match-ups guarding 5's like Joakim Noah.

He holds his own against guys who don't have much back to basket game.

This is a great point. Even when he's playing with Love or Frye he is sometimes effectively the five on defense (and sometimes on offense too when he is posting up). Certainly the strategy of getting Bron to play big on both ends is probably the best maximization of his skillset. In Miami he was a lot better catching the ball at the nail, in scoring positions, or in the deep post than just bringing the ball up like he's been doing often this season. He's also a great screen and roll man as can be seen with his success with Delly last year and with Kyrie this year. But it's too much to expect him to be the team's backup big, backup point guard, primary defender late in games against the Durant types, primary scorer, and primary creator on offense. If Griffin/Gilbert are content with not having a backup big, then they at least need to acquire another ballhandler without losing wing depth just to take some pressure off of LBJ. Figuring out how to conserve his energy for the Finals is going to be the real test of the rest of this season and the early rounds of the playoffs.

Against Warriors, its essentially positionless basketball anyway.

Also, LeBron was essentially our rim-protector in the 2016 NBA Finals.

I think we could definitely do with one more big, a rim protector like a Bogut or Chandler.

But personally, a wing defender or a versatile forward is much more needed vs the Warriors because we don't really have anyone decent to guard Durant other than LeBron. If we have LeBron guard someone like Durant, he won't be able to simultaneously guard Durant and provide the rim-protection. Also we run the risk of tiring him out and putting him in foul trouble.

Ideally have LeBron guard someone like Draymond and have Love guard Iggy.

LeBron has more All Star appearances (13) than the rest of the East All Star starters combined (11).

The next highest number of appearances out of starters on either team in the game, Durant (8), and Harden (5).

PLEASE give Baron the 15th spot. One of my all time favorite NBA player.

The REAL beard. Back when the Warriors were my 2nd favorite team. Back before they became the San Francisco Bitches.
