LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I would think this is more accurate than not. remember, this is ESPINs dream to have LBJ go to LA, they prefer to cover events in warm locales than in Cleveland.

All we hear about is LA and Miami- WTF does Miami have to offer basketball wise that CLE can't?

I fuking hate ESPIN

This shit takes a toll on you if you're interested, which we are.

LeBron knows what effect he has on this team, city, state, he's said it before.

1.3 million people came out to party in his honor, he won't get that anywhere else. Not Miami, not LA, not anywhere but his home. It'll be bad buisness leaving again and most likely for good. I look at LeBron having a huge statue when it's said and done, I look for him to own the Cavs and be involved in our daily basketball operations. I can't see him going away. He's too loved at home. That's why we are thankful LeBron James was born in Akron, Ohio.

Gilbert has been super loyal to LeBron before and after the letter mistake. That's a black eye for sure, but they go away.

I don't think Lebron is leaving, I think he very much wants to finish out his career here, but I also think that refusing to significantly upgrade the team to compete with GS is playing with fire as far as he is concerned.

It's the NBA offseason, where everyone (including fans) lose their collective mind. Most likely Lebron finishes his prime in Cleveland, and probably his entire career. He's playing his social media games to light a fire under management to upgrade the team. Standing pat or tinkering around the edges won't beat this Warrior team.

By keeping the exact same roster? You're right. If the team does what it should and upgrades the bench, I'm sure LeBron would love to take playoff matchups of Memphis/Houston/Golden State before even getting to the finals over a few more regular season minutes in the east, you're right

If in this scenario his team is at least as good as GS, of course he would. Because all other West teams would be crushed and he'd have much better chance to beat the Warriors, before annihilating whatever East team is in the finals.

Getting swept by GS next year after making no adjustments could make LeBron think real hard about his future.

Not saying he'll leave, but maybe he would retire.

Can't take what he's done these last 3 finals for granted. No guarantee as he gets older he can replicate that. Something must be done.

C'mon Gus.

He is on path to get the biggest contract in NBA history. Why the fuck would he do that?

This is all just about holding Gilbert's feet to the fire. Keeping him on his toes and any other BS metaphor you want to add. Read his coming home letter. His impact is more than on the court. His oldest son is a couple years away from high school. He ain't going anywhere

Windy was on KNR this morning and said Love won't get a Butler or George deal done,,,he seemed to say you could get 2 decent players for him (Crowder/Bradley) but you couldn't get a "star" player for him. He feels Love's stock around the league is down.
So if you look at it what major moves can the make? They are stuck. I would like to at least try to get Beverly from Houston but I'm not even sure how they get these kinds of deals done...hamstrung money wise and asset wise.

If you think LeBrons makeup is to fade away and play his last 5 or so seasons losing to the Warriors, I don't know what to tell you.

If we can't field a team to beat them, he's not going to stay.

Who else in the league can afford to pay Lebron the super max he desires (and deserves) while at the same time putting a team around him that can beat the Warriors? Where can he possibly have a better chance of accomplishing that than right here with the Cavs?

Every scenario I can imagine where Lebron gets his top dollar also puts him with a lesser team than what he has here with Kyrie and Love.

What I saw in the finals was that the Cavs clearly did not play up to their ability in all 4 losses. They did come ready to leave it all out there on the court. A few simple (but at the same time difficult) things like a stronger effort at times, and smarter play at other times, would have had us going to 7 games with a chance to win. We repeatedly shot ourselves in the foot in the finals and against the Warriors any foot wound is fatal.

Our bench got their asses kicked in the finals, not so much our big three. Fix the bench.
Our failure to work on good defensive habits also cost us the finals. Get some 2 way players in here with some length who can switch several positions on defense, and make defense a focus throughout the entire regular reason.

If we do those things and maybe get a rejuvenated CA in here after a buyout then we're right back in the conversation.

the entire problem is that we do not have the resources to get those kind of players, who are the most valuable and prized kind of players in the modern NBA

And we don't seem to be able to develop young players who have the potential to maybe get there someday -- e.g. Derrick Williams may have the physical skills to be that kind of player, although he is a long way away skill-wise, but Lue seemed totally uninterested in developing him

Good point. TT disappeared for most of that series, and we should have won Game 3. And I'm not sure a strategy of just outscoring them had much of a chance of success after they got Durant.
