LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is the first full year with coach Korver to get on his ass like an army drill sergeant as soon as he starts fading to the side a litttlllleee too much or aiming the ball...

That gives me hope...

I don’t think he’ll maintain 43% given his shot selecti . BUT, I could totally see him in the upper 30s 37-39 on a bunch of attempts which for a guy like LBJ is still otherworldly

It looks sustainable right now, but I won't cross my fingers. I will say, his 3 selection looks very good. There are many players that have their spots and Lebron has pretty much stuck to his unless the shot clock is out, which is better than in years past.

I really thought LeBron was reaching his decline during the 2014-2015 season. He looked old. He's gotten better each year since then. I'm almost to the point where I'll be surprised if he's ever anything less than a top 5 player in the league during the rest of his career. His athleticism is declining but his intellect and shooting continue to improve.

I remember being at his first game back against the Knicks, got lucky and had decent seats so had a good view of LBJ. He was struggling to dribble drive by some scrub, I believe his name was Travis Wear.

At that moment I had the same thought you did, that maybe all the mileage was starting to add up and the LBJ we got back wasn't the "real" LBJ anymore.

Amazing to see how he has continued to beast and even improve this late in his career.

Truly one of the all time greats.

Cavs are +6 when Lebron is off the court and -0.3 with Lebron on the court :chuckle:

Our starting lineup is a mess more than anything. Love is -16, Crowder is -12, JR is -10 and the Calderon is -6... so clearly Lebron is being dragged down by the starters, or his stats are better because he plays with the bench slightly more.

Our Bench On/Off is insane. Korver +22, Channing +22.3 , Wade +13, Green +8.3 and........ Shumpert +5.

Clearly we started playing better after the addition of Frye to the bench mob.

Without Korver (our 2nd best player) we would have been fucked. Wade is a huge help aswell.

Not popular sentiment now, but TT can guard these guys that Love cannot. Also, there is a really bad lack of screens in the first unit, and TT is very clearly our best screen setter and one of the reasons he has such a high offensive rating(not sure this year). I know we want spacing in the starting unit, but Crowder ain't hitting. Good screens also open up space... I think you could start TT and sub Crowder after 5 min even and it would make a big difference in rebounding and spacing in the starting unit. Love is a great rebounder, but some length can totally take him out of it. 3 boards last game and I saw one that he had to really steal from Embiid

I got sorta depressed seeing that. I was like, "Oh of course this is the version Cleveland gets". He had back problems then, and no one mentions this, but he lost weight on a paleo diet Ray Allen recommended. I think he didn't realize that Allen needed more endurance than power. I think that set him back a lot. He has looked healthier and healthier the past 2 years even with all the minutes and games.

Something weird happens when LeBron changes teams. Or at least during that off season. He looked a shell of himself when he joined Miami as well. I mean he was still great, but something seemed off. There were actually doubts.

Just look at how different he looked in Cleveland compared to Miami. He was nowhere near as quick. He looked bulkier, but not in a great way.

As much as he choked that finals it was also the fact that he couldn't get to the rim at will like he use too. Even when his jumper was bad in Cleveland he still athletically could get to the rim. He looked stressed that year.

2012 he physically looked much better.

2014 his jumper was automatic for the Heat. He joins the Cavs and his jumper was horrible. Remember how it seemed like he couldn't dribble either? Was also stressed and moody.

Don't feel like posting a bunch of youtube vids. Just go look up the years. His last MVP season as a Cav vs. his first season with Miami. His final season in Miami vs. his first season back as a Cav. He looks like a completely different player both mentally and physically.

Hell if he still had his quickness he would have beat the Mavs and if he still had his jumper he might have pulled off the upset over the Warriors.

Bottom line is if LeBron leaves I expect a similar dip and it would take a year for him to get right. Some people physically and mentally aren't their best selves during that first year of a transition.

Lebron should boycott a fortnights worth of road games...as the nbas biggest draw it will hit the nba in the pockets...they might decide to play fair then
