LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
CAN SOMEONE OLEASE SHOW ME THE KINGS ECF STATS

how did he do against the so called lbj stopper

I was extremely impressed with LeBron James second half performance on the defensive end. Was literally a fucking demon out there on the court. He contested everything. He got stops at the rim. He crowded them behind the 3 point line. He was all over the place. In the first half, and I got on him for this, he was ball watching all over the place and losing Jaylen Brown every which way. Maybe he was just conserving energy,

I dunno, but he was really causing us problems. Especially in the 2nd quarter when Boston pushed the lead out to 10 and Bron was just taking terrible shots and not competing defensively and things looked bleak. I called him out for "LeBallwatching", lol. I was infuriated.

But then around the 5 minute mark in the 2nd quarter he flipped a switch or something and out of nowhere he was attacking the rim and he was flying defensively. I think it might have been right after Morris talked all that shit after the offensive rebound and score or whatever. Also, Green and JR both made baskets and the Cavs cut it to under 5 real quick. I still maintain that going into the half down 4 instead of 12 was one of the 3 biggest reasons we won the game. LeBron looked re-energized and he came out in the 3rd quarter with every single defensive adjustment necessary in his back pocket, he made every single one of them, he got a little help on offense and the glass....and he brought it home for us. That block on Rozier was sooooo special.

That was a special game all around, but LeBron's effort on the glass and defense was truly where his greatness came into play. He also was efficient and shot the ball well, though he still turned it over like it was his job...but with the way he played defense in the 2nd half I don't care how much he turns it over or takes bad shots...when LeBron took the defensive challenge against the Celts he swung the entire game and in turn carried us to the finals...again.

Mad fucking props to him for that. Apologies for my first half reactions even though he'll never read this...but the only reason I get so worked up is because I know for a fact LeBron knows how to play defense at an elite, best defender in the league level and when he purposely plays under that and we're down in big moments, I will always question why he is not playing better. But tonight he turned it around and won us the game with his defense and that's another reason why #1 LBJ is ALWAYS worth every headache he will ever bring to the table.

I've always said this, despite getting accused of HATING LeBron..(just not true...), even the bullshit that I hate that I call him out on is not so bad to where Id ever wanna get rid of him...when I point it out it's just me being grumpy and hoping he picks his shit up so we can win the game. Tonight he did, and we won.

The answer as to why LeBron doesn’t always play to his defensive potential is so obvious. Because he has a million miles and fifteen grueling years in this league, and yet this undertalented Cavs squad still needed 48 minutes out of him in a game 7 to go to the Finals. And not just 48 minutes, but 48 minutes where he’s the team’s primary ball handler, creator, scorer, and rebounder. No other player in NBA history has carried that kind of a burden...and he is still able to perform when it matters most. He’s a human being not a machine.

Yep.

The expectation the guy plays under is unreal. If he has a "bad" game (usually scoring 20-25 points still) he is lambasted ruthlessly, even by his own fan base.

The burden is unreal. Amazing that he continues to deliver.

Exactly. I mean I get IBWT’s complaints...but my god LeBron is in his 15th season, taking on an unprecedented workload that no other player has ever had. He’s already more than exceeded expectations in what he’s gotten this team to do up until this point, it’s a bit petty to say “NO, you should be doing MORE!”

Kind of. A lot of the time...yeah. And tonight, I actually do believe that is what he was doing. But sometimes it's not that simple.

Sure, but at the same time I think he sometimes his priorities are out of whack in how he expends his energy. He also has some seriously bad habits that he's developed that make some of his "bad effort" moments look really really bad, in particular with his ball watching.

But I dont wanna even talk about that I just wanted to mainly give him props on his absolutely stellar defensive performance in the 2nd half today. Round of applause from me.

He was incredible on defense once some of the other guys started making shots. Seems to be the theme for him since he came back.

I do want to say one thing. Remember last year when the Cavs demolished the East and we all said, "this is only going to encourage them to half-ass the season even more knowing they can still make the finals."

Well, if they make the finals this year, after this regular season.... LeBron might not cross half court for half the games next season :chuckle:

I actually totally agree. I try to be somewhat reasonable with complaining about him...some people are too sensitive and can't take any of it at all but there was only one part of todays game when I really killed him and it was in the 2nd quarter when he was ballwatching for like literally 5 possessions in a row and he gave up 3 baskets (8 points) on those 5 possessions and I just got very upset and called him a "LeBallWatcher" :chuckle::chuckle:

But I also was pointing out all game that LeBron looked like he was gearing up to go balls to the wall in the 2nd half. I had faith in him. I never once accused him of quitting or having 1 foot out the door or anything like that. LeBron's effort overall this postseason has been valiant. I just wanted him to stop watching the post option while Jaylen Brown kept running to open spots and banging in threes.

I really don't want LeBron to carry all of the deadbeats in the team but I get IBWT. At least be near your man (no homo), put a hand up and that's it. That's not going to expend much energy isn't it? But then again I can't really fault the guy who's doing all the damn work. His "artificial" defensive complacency might have just lit the guys' asses.
