Why is Ty Lue to LA a surprise to anyone? For fuck sakes he’s the original LBJ guy.
He will now allow Lebron to have total control of the franchise.

Down the rabbit hole with Lebron used to be a good place to be, more likely than not it led you to the Finals. But down that hole with 35 year old Lebron is an entirely different deal than it was with 30 year old Lebron.
Kawhi or Anthony Davis are the only individual stars I can see digging them out. But even if he desparately wants to be in LA, I don't see any reason why Kawhi would possibly pick the Lakers over the Clippers, and the Pelicans aren't sending Davis to the Lakers this summer.

I also think that Lue doesn't expand their ability to recruit. Kyrie is probably completely out of the question now. Butler is one of Kyrie's good friends, I doubt he has heard alot of good things about Lue.
I just don't see anyone coming in free agency so Lue can play them out of position or pile on the aspects of the game that LeBron doesn't want to do.
That's a really good point. Why would Kawhi Leonard come to play with Lebron's coach on Lebron's team? They should be downplaying Lebron being the alpha of the team if they want to get a true superstar to play with him.

Exactly. Lue has no track record of winning without putting LeBron first. Free agents just have to look at Lue's record when LeBron doesn't play or he wasn't with the team.
One guy I thought could work is Kemba Walker because he might be at the stage where he just wants to win like Love was and will do anything to win. The problem now is LeBron not making the playoffs shows that winning isn't a sure thing if you join a LeBron team. I think Kemba will have better options before he has to turn to the Lakers. He might pick the extra money with the Hornets over trying to win with the Lakers.
I think the last impact player of free agency will be Khris Middleton and I don't see how he decides to tie himself to LeBron over Giannis unless the Bucks refuse to pay him. I think it's more likely he goes to a place that he can be the star and leading man of a team if he decides to leave the Bucks.

I can't wait for the LeBron heel turn on Lonzo. The only person Magic owed anything to is Jeanie and he did the fans a favor by stepping down for a job he was never up for. The Lakers are absolutely screwed because I can't imagine a triumvirate of LeBron (owns Klutch), Kobe (Pelinka is a Kobe puppet) and Linda Rambis ("shadow owner") all in Jeanie Buss' ear. I'm going to enjoy the train wreck from a distance.

Does anyone remember when the supposed insiders on this board were telling us that we had to make the awful Kyrie Celtics trade because the next best offer was Milwaukee offering Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon for Kyrie, and that was so awful? LOL, now Lebron would be begging Middleton to come.
This show is so pathetic. Lebron flushed his Cleveland legacy down the toilet for a boring-ass HBO show where a bunch of people in sit in barber chairs and kiss his ass for an hour, and also to hang out with Magic. Now it's all gone and he has Lonzo Ball as a sidekick. Can it get any worse? Tune in next season!
I blame Cleveland management too, totally failed to improve the team after the championship, but still....Lebron laid a giant turd. If he wanted to leave he needed to go someplace that could put an actual basketball team behind him.

It’s a self congratulatory show about a bunch of bull**** and most of it nowhere near as sincere or as funny as real barbershop talk. Something about Maverick annoys me on that show, dude thinks he’s Steve Jobs mixed with Oprah like he’s some innovative genius but has either ADHD or simply poor listening skills, often repeating questions answered within another question. They have 20 people and only maybe 5 will say anything, can’t imagine those who’s parts got cut out are willing to come back. It’s a really cool flex that demonstrates how many famous people he’s acquired while being the best basketball player in the world. That’s it.
