-Shumps deal was not rated to being tight with LeBron or repper by Klutch. He was coming off his best season and a very good post season run. His play in the Chicago and Atl series with Love out and Kyrie hobbled was critical. It's actually arguable that if he hadn't have re-signed so quickly with the Cavs on that 2015 open market he might have gotten the same or slightly more. And if $10Million was an overpay, it's not like he was ever going to be re-signed for less than $8M per. It's not a difference that would have affected what the Cavs could do elsewhere.
-Its time to stop acting like TT and JR got massive overpays because of being repped by Klutch/endorsed by LeBron. They may have gotten 1-3Million more per year than they would have from another team, but that's it. So again, it's nothing that would have affected the Cavs ability to add other players.
And it's important to remember at the times of re-signing Shump, TT, and JR letting any or all of them walk would have created a situation where we could have only replaced them with vet min players.
This idea that we could have gone in all sorts of other awesome directions had LeBron just not strong armed us in to re-signing his guys or possibly giving them a little more than market value is pure BS
