It is absolutely shocking for a third year player who is supposed to be on the road to be a top 20 nba player and get a max contract to play 35 minutes in a closeout playoff game and score just 3 points. I think Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman occasionally did things like this but he’s not Wallace or Rodman.

Garland and Mobley have been in the nba for 3-5 years now. They have physical gifts but appear lacking in some of the mental makeup to be superstars. That mental makeup is part of talent. Kobys job is to spot and develop talent and make decisions on that basis and his assessment of Garland and Mobley appears off so far.

They have been in the NBA for that many years, but their only coach has been JBB. Everyone that comes here and plays for JBB turns to $#!+ or stops developing, and everyone that gets traded away to different coaches end up playing better.

Strus going from Spo to JBB has to feel like a living nightmare. One of the greatest coaches of all time to someone that probably shouldn't be in the NBA unless it's coaching a tanking team or being the film person.

To Cavs credit, they identified him, and the season he declined his PO, we had to re-up Allen, and then drafted Mobley.

We also then traded for Lauri.

That said, that guy would be such an ideal fit…sort of a sliding door moment in a sense, because if you opt to pay him instead of Wade, our bench construction would look entirely different, as no Wade, no Lopez/TT, likely no Niang.

Having Hartenstein to body and beat up Wagner would be change the tone of this whole series

A rookie btw, they did not know would become Jaime Jaquez Jr. They were so done with Struss a team that made finals threw a shot in the dark instead of resigning Struss.

Miami wanted Strus back just not at the price tag he was given. Miami liked Strus. They just didn't like him at 16 Million per. Also they signed a few veterans on the wing most notably Josh Richardson who was brought in to play the Strus role. It wasn't them just going in and saying Strus sucks a rookie can do his job. They made multiple moves at SG/SF after Strus left.
