Now that we have the biggest pieces of the puzzle in place...

1. A coach: Mike Brown
2. A GM: Danny Ferry
3. A center: Big Z
2. A top tier SG: Larry Hughes...

what else needs to be squared away? Can we consolidate this into one thead and go position by position?

Getting Sarunas signed and in Cleveland is our top priority. And we could use an upgrade at PF if there was a way to obtain Tyson Chandler I'd look at it very very very closely.

You know I am not sure a PG is a priority. We could see point played by Hughes, Lebron and Snow, with a youngish and inexpensive pg to groom for later. When it comes down to it our playoff run is more likely to be determined by depth at the big. Consider that we know Z is vulnerable to injury, and doesn't play well with a lot of minutes even when healthy. and that we really only have three bigs to play (I am not counting Marty since he is clearly not close to ready). We are going to need bodies for those minutes, and we are going to need bodies for those contact nights with Shaq...

The Cavs front office makes it clear they think Lebron can play any of the four positions, so I suppose if we got a major PG we could play Lebron at the four once in a while, but I am not sure this is the best place for him..

As for Chandler, Of course we should look, but I don't think the Bulls will let either him or Curry get out.

PG hughes can only play the point in different spots of the game, when the warriors- and wizards (his 1st year with jordan) tried larry at the permanent PG, it was a disaster..
he can play it during different parts of the game, but he is not a decision maker.

getting a guy that can get our team in it's offense, and that can play the pick n roll is the most important thing right now..

hell, it was the most important thing in mind going into this process, even though we wouldn't have done too much, if you took the team we had last year and added a decent PG- we would have faired much better (even without the shooter, or defender)

- jeff mcinnis + a PG upgrade = playoff team..

I want Sarunas there is obviously no one else moving out of the starting lineup so lets just make Sarunas our pg who can shoot and for the tough matchups let Hughes cover the tough pg or bring in snow. Get some vets for the bench and a donyell marshall too.

We have two major priorities left.

1. Signing the point guard as disccused : Saraunas
2. Sign a backup center : Dale Davis / Cliff Robinson, Vitaly Potapenko are examples.

2 minor things to look at :

1. Filling out the roster : 1 or 2 from summer league. (Gilchrist)
2. Looking at upgrading the power forward position. Not very important this summer.

Exactly Karma we can only do so much in 1 summer leave the PF spot for next year we are alright now. Sarunas needs to be signed for our PG spot and get Jerome James to be our backup center.

Our top priority is a backup Center. Z goes down for any number of games, we have nothing. PG can be filled - even in the middle of the season. We need insurance behind Z, if at least to give him a rest.

I think, even ahead of a PG, is a defensive minded PF. However, a PG is close behind.

I think I like the Potapenko signing a bit more he's got enough size where he won't be too badly mismatched at the center spot and I really want to get Z' minutes down to around 35 a game

I am a fan of Potapenko also. But its too bad his name is never even mentioned by any of the reporters. It seems like the Vitaly days are long gone.

If we do sign a backup big man, I am pretty sure it will be Tractor Traylor. If he is salty about getting cut, then the bigger paycheck will probably get rid of the chip.

I'm wanting Jerome James...IDK his playoff performance made me want him a lot at least for backup center.

If we can't lure Tractor back, I think we should look at Jerome James, or any big guy who is as solid as a rock. We need a banger to play behind Zydrunas because he is kinda soft.

The only problem with this idea is that Jerome James is a complete stiff.

We wouldn't need him to be Shaquille O'Neal, we'd just need him to play tough physical defense, rebound, and get the clean-up points.
