Thats none of my concern. All my duty is is to lay the seeds, which by the grace of God, I laid many. How they were received is not my concern nor does it measure the quality of the work i put in.

I have no idea how the the hearts of men in this thread were effected by the exchanges. Just because you only see backlash and anger, etc, doesnt mean there wasnt not ONE lurker who was blessed. I dont know, and neither do you. Only the Lord knows, and the Lord will provide the increase. If you feel you know better, you are fooling yourself. You have no insight into the hearts of men, not the ones you see posting, nor the ones that are silent lurkers. Understand?

There could be many people who were enlightened, inspired, encouraged... and there could be nobody. either way, that is none of my concern. my only work is to do the work. And the LORD does the rest. And no matter the outcome, my work is not in vain, Amen. I'm just an obedient servant of the LORD.

But this thread has come to a halt because your brothers cant help themselves but to attack me and make it about me and cant stay on topic.

People have asked your questions; you dismiss them.

You ask people questions; they get answered, but you dismiss them because the bible.

The thread came to a halt because your foundation in religion does not allow you to debate outside of the bible. And even then, you've debated within the bible on the meaning of verses... And were smacked around by other posters.

I'm not a huge Kiddo fan; can at least respect his post.
 
Sure, we can speak in archaic metaphor. I'm game.

In Medieval Europe, 90% of the population spread seeds on the plowed soil. The lord of the manor needed 90% of the society to spread seed on the ground because livestock as well as the populace were near starvation. Of course the population of the manor couldn't read or write, only those who accepted Holy Orders from the Church had the opportunity to read and learn. In the meantime, most of the seed was eaten by birds. They didn't even know to dig a hole for the seed and cover it. Life expectancy was under 30 years of age.

Lay all the seed you want, man. But a smarter farmer will live longer, and so will his offspring.

Why are you so worried about another "lying on you" if God can see all and you're confident in the "truth" you see?

Fair enough - thanks very much for answering. I will say that it is highly likely that early proselytizers of pretty much every religion were mocked, and I'd expect that modern proselytizers are informed of that history/background by religious leaders.

I will simply add that you should probably make sure you've got your purely historical facts (Roman names, etc.) down cold, or else not include them.

And I'm honestly curious about the whole "Augustine" thing. Augustine of Hippo really wasn't a bad guy.

I'll share some things that have happened to me, all after I excepted the Lord as my Savior. So i want you to imagine the pulsating feeling of electrotherapy pads.
About 5 years ago i am awakened in the middle of the night to what sounded like our fire alarms going off and it is so loud my ears are hurting. So i'm desperately trying to sit up and i'm try to yell at my wife to wake up but i can't move and i cant make a sound. I'm laying there frozen, in shock and scared. Then this pulse that feels exactly like the therapy pads starts at my head and slowing spreads all across my body and down through my legs. I remember laying there for a long time just in shock with my heart racing. I didn't understand what it was until the next morning but i became baptized with the Holy Spirit. Since then i've been awakened 5-6 times to the same thing. A couple times i awakened by ringing in my ears again but twice it was the sound of wings fluttering. I've also been awakened by what felt like someone tugging on my finger/hand. Also several years ago i was searching for an answer about a career change. I was at a roadblock and was trying to decide between 2 opportunities. I was awakened by the fluttering of wings and an immediate loud voice yelling the name of the company i now work for.

It's experiences like this that have truly changed my life and i wish all of you could have them. While you might not believe in God or Jesus, it would serve you well to stop making a mockery of Christianity.

Christianity is but just one of hundreds, thousands, of human constructed belief systems across time and the social geography of this planet.

I can respect it and respect the people who practice it peacefully but I can not take seriously the belief that it is primary amongst all religions, that it is the one correct way, that it deserves any more priority or privilege than any of the hundreds of other human belief systems that current and past cultures have created and refined to help explain their existence and meaning. I can not elevate or prioritize any religion above the other, the very notion would be absurd.

I’m sure there’s something in the Old Testament against this, or at least something that makes it difficult to do it every day or at weird hours so chances are true Jews are anti.

Just ate a Reuben though.
