BG is really, really frustrating. Absolutely gouged on the ground, yet somehow the defense comes out of halftime and puts on easily their best half of the season that was really reminiscent of last year. I'm almost to the point that I think the defense just needs time to gel in their new roles and with the new strategies, but I honestly don't think we have time to wait. Dino lucks out again, but honestly won't luck out the whole season. We aren't Baylor fast, or Baylor good, so his overwhelming want to "score one more" than the opponent is going to bite him in the ass so damn hard, really, really soon. Somehow, an offense that should be putting up HUGE yards like they did against Indiana is struggling to do really do much. With Burbrink, Moore, and Lewis we should have been able to throw all over today, because as far as I recall, it didn't rain and it wasn't our awful BG wind.
Clawson was completely inept and got bailed out by an incredible defense two years in a row. Babers is just... ugh... I hate to say it, but he really doesn't seem to care relatively ever. He jokes around way too much, and the thing that we honestly need with such a young team (for the most part, mostly sophomores and juniors, not too many contributing seniors on offense) is a coach who's intense. He's too fun. He cares too much about sexy video game mentality, and when it gets REALLY cold here (I went to an October BG v OU game my freshman year when it was like real feel 12º because it was that windy) we won't be able to stop the run or score enough points. Last year we could just destroy teams by controlling the clock. I honestly don't think our offense is even capable of doing that. Honestly don't know how long he'll last here, because while a nice guy and while he'll probably compete every year, I really don't think the fanbase cares for him as much as they did Clawson, who was legitimately a good person and a very, very good interview.
Utterly shocked we won, will continue to be every time we do. Third win when the opponent scores 35 or more. This is not sustainable, and should have been corrected already.
