They didn't overpay. He's the only player on that team that can score 30+ on any given night. Not to mention that he keeps his nose clean, he's a great teammate, and he wanted to be there. Health is an issue, but health has also been an issue with Tony Parker even though Parker is much younger.

Manu has been great, mind you I don't watch the Spurs games very often so I don't know if he has been the best player or not, but Duncans impact is off of the stat sheet. But stil you don't pay Manu Ginobli the same money as you would pay for Rudy Gay.

I do agree, but to keep him, they had to sign Manu for this much. This contract is pretty close to what he was offered from overseas teams.
