One of the owners in my league just dropped Marooney. I'm thinking I should attempt to nab him if he clears waivers, but is he worth more than the guys at the bottom of my roster, i.e. is it worth it for me to drop someone to pick him up?

Here are the top candidates:

* Seneca Wallace (will probably start this weekend, and has a nice matchup vs the niners, but will he start after that? Hassel is back at practice.)
* Anthony Thomas (a start for several weeks while McGahee heels)
* Mike Turner (handcuff for my superstar, LT)
* Norwood (handcuff for Dunn)

Here's the thing, I don't need any of these players, including Marooney. Now that the trading deadline has passed, I mainly just have them so that other owners (who need them) don't have them.

Re: Marooney?

Depends... If you have a good amount of RB's that produce then I would stick to what I have....

But if you do choose to pick him up, I'd advise you to drop Wallace.. Hasselback is back and the other RB's are all good guys to keep incase of injury...

I guess the problem is I have way more depth at RB then I do at QB, yet Wallace is the best candidate to kick off the team. I'm having a hard time dropping a starting qb (even if it's temporary) just to add some rb depth I don't need.

Ok, so I drop one of the RBs to add Marooney, right? Well, Marooney is in a backfield by committee situation. The A Train is the man, at least for now, but maybe the rest of the year. Turner and Norwood are just backups, but they're backups to guys I have. If LT or Dunn go down, then they too will be the man on their teams. They're insurance. If I had Dillon, it would be a no brainer to pick him up, but I don't.

I guess I'll just sit pat. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Marooney?

I have Maroney..very inconsistent..

1 week against a good run D I sit him and he'll blow up for 120 yds and a TD the week after they face trash and he gets 5 carries for like 30 yards..

Re: Marooney?

Drop Wallace and if you need another backup QB you can always pickup Trent Green.

We have an IR in our league, so Green was never dropped, he was placed on the IR. Unlike the NFL's IR, when you go on ours it doesn't mean you're done for the season. It just means you've freed up a roster spot on your active roster.

Started Maroney this week and he did nothing...

Benched him last week and he had like 120 and 2 TD's..

He does nothing against garbage teams..nothing after a good game..

Next week he could play the pro bowl team and rush for 145 and 3 TDs..
