Just speaking football and roster wise here but it would be a radically different football team if a trade for Watson foes through.

If they do a deal, I almost prefer Mayfield is not in the Watson deal, as I think they may be able to get more for him from another team then the value HOU assigns him as part of the incoming package for Watson. Teams like Carolina, Philly, Seattle, New Orleans, and Detroit come to mind.

Not sure if the Browns will pay the price necessary but then again they KNOW its a STEEP price and they are not just going down there to say hello and exchange pleasantries.

I do believe in Andrew Berry's ability to make a positive impression on Watson and his people.

Buckle up. You don't take a meeting with a team if you are not at least open to hearing their pitch and being wonder by it.

Now it's officially Safari season. Just make the thread boys, start it with the plane post.

The guys in the morning are gonna have fun with this.

Where's @Ohio

@Los216

@Robbie Jay .. you let some schmuck out plane track you????

Let's gooooo

I give Jimmy a ten percent chance at pulling this off, at best. This is a Hail Mary.

I don't think there's a price that's too much for one.

And two, it really comes down to Deshaun. But he's willing to listen, and that's a positive.

If you're AB, KS, and Jimmy, how do you sell the guy on being the face of Cleveland?

There's a defense in place that will allow him to make his few mistakes. Just not a ton.

There's an all world O-Line protecting you. (If healthy)

Chubb and Hunt to take plays off

And rebuilding the WR Corp starting with a great route runner in Amari.

I think this is 60% Andrew Berry
35% Kevski
And 5% Haslam.

If Berry can connect with Watson and his people on a personal level that they feel good about, it could open the door. From their Stefanski has to say the right things. But it's Berry's personality, story, and vision that will sell it to Watson or not.

I’m sure Baker is going to take this very maturely and not act out at all.
It does make you wonder if its the beginning of an earlier end for Baker regardless of whether we get Watson or not.

But on the other hand, if the Browns aren't looking to trade him in a scenario where they strike out on Watson( or Carr if that has any legs), Baker still needs to play well enough to earn his contract from somebody in 2023 so itching a fit or sitting out just does not seem like a smart business decision.

Have to think the odds have gone up significantly of him being traded this offseason though just by the willingness from the Browns end to explore going all in on Watson to the point of flying down there and having that public knowledge.

No way Houston would prefer Baker to Mills, so the question would become who would take Baker… Indy? Maybe the Giants on a super cheap?

IF the Browns trade for Watson, (and to be frank, I would still prefer that Watson gets acquired by another team), then yeah Baker would be traded somewhere else, not Houston, to recuperate a 1st round pick. One of those teams would be willing to take a flyer on him.
