MLB 2023 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Callis/Mayo final mock dovetails quite significantly with @Tondo target listing.. These two industry stalwarts have Jack Wilson's progeny going few picks before # 23...

I expect Myles Naylor will be picked before his projected slot. Basing that on nothing other than fan logic. With two brothers already in the major leagues, that may convince a team he has MLB skills in his bones. Plus with his two older brothers playing for the same MLB team right now, he should come very motivated with an extremely understanding/helpful support system.

So, at # 62... two spots ahead of his MLB.com ranking, does that work?

I think he'll land around number 50. Maybe even sooner if it can be worked as a moneysaver for a later pick.

But if he's there at 62, you have to do it.

I feel like if he's still there at the 58/62 you gotta take him... I think at 23 is a stretch for Cleveland...

Myles wouldn't be a top 100 ranked prospect in any draft if his last name wasn't Naylor. He has talent, but it's usually not the profile Barnsby and his crew select. Familiarity could change that of course, so he's a wildcard. But I'm pretty sure there will be a handful of other players I prefer in round 2 and even round 3.

Maybe they can cut a deal with him as a mid day 2 pick, or early day 3 if he drops out of the top 2 rounds, which I believe is very likely to happen.

I wonder if we take him at 58/62 if he will sign under slot? We got a few guys to get under slot while we put a lot into Zibin and Humphries late...

Wilken is intriguing, but too TTO'ish for my taste especially as a corner top pick. It's a very one dimensional profile.

I expect to end up with one each of my top 3 groups today something like B. Wilken, Schoenwetter/Echevarria, W. Sanders/T. Hall...then an over slot HS bat in rd 3, Myles Naylor, A. Anderson, Z. Rose

I've heard Nimmala is dropping. I hope someone takes him before our pick.

I've listed around four dozen names.... if four of them are selected... this draft will emulate the 2016 draft.. half of that is "typical"..

Agree on Nimmala...

We disagree on Emerson..

There's risk with Emerson as a Northeastern prep bat, but he's got a similar profile as Tyler Freeman, but with more power potential

Skenes goes # 1 overall.. both of the bats that could have/should have been 1-1, are next up...

Skenes came into the draft with that MJ/Mike Trout quality. You don't dare pass up on this guy.
