I wanted to make a NBA 2k10 thread that just pertained to the Association. I didn't feel like wanting to look through all of that other thread so this is specific to just some of the good Association team you have made(with no trade overrided on).

Right now this a team I have with the Cavs

PG-Brevin Knight/Marcus Banks/Eddie House
SG-Carmelo Anthony/Anthony Parker
SF-LeBron James/Francisco Garcia/Donte Green
PF-Dirk Nowitzski/Antonio Mcdyess/Melvin Ely
C-Chris Anderson/Chris Mims

What I will probably do with that team is trade Brevin Knight and somebody for a better backup center(maybe even possibly starting center) and than starting Francisco or AP at point. (I might have to play LeBron at PG instead because I don't know if Garcia or AP will have enough handles for PG so they might play SF or SG instead). Or I could move Dirk down to C, Melo to PF, LeBron is SF, Garcia is SG, than AP at PG. Or I could just start Mcdyess at C:chuckles: Im trying to decide but you can see the possibilities.

I will probably put on later how I aquired those people and than I will put my other roster I am currently doing too up and you guys can decide which is better. (My other is rated a 92 or maybe higher and that one^^^ is a 91 but I still personally think it is better).

I constantly do different associations so I will put up all the other ones I do if they are good. If I get bored of team up or ranked quick matches or I just want a "break", I do the association for fun:chuckles: I want to see some of the teams you guys have made from Association:thumbup:

edit- Oh, and just incase you wondered. Those really do take me a long time. I might work on a team for 3-4 hours throughout the day and not feel satisified and come back to it the next day maybe and work on it a little bit.:chuckles: I take it pretty slow and just explore all the different possibilites with all the teams.

I started an association with the Pacers. I made like 3 trades the first year, none the next year, and then I used free agency to finish the team. I let Dunleavy and Troy Murphy's contract expire.

PG-Jennings/Dooling/Price
SG-K-Mart/Dawkins(DP)/Mo Evans
SF-Granger/Dawkins(DP)/Hermann
PF-David West/Tyler/Moneroe(DP from G-tech)
C-Hibbert/Blatche/Boone

I traded TJ Ford and something else for K-mart.
Traded my first round pick for Jennings
Traded Earl Watson, two 2nd picks for Dooling + Boone
Forgot how I got Andre Blatche...
Signed David West in Free agency
Signed Mo Evans in Free agency
Signed Walter Hermann in Free agency

Why the Pacers dude:chuckles: But actually that isn't too bad of a team. The thing is with me is that I usually never hardly go past the first year before I start over:chuckles: And I always fail with the signing aspect of the game. I usually always get worse once free agency comes around or stay the same. I think it is harder with the Cavs than other teams maybe. I just stay succesful through free agents(MLE and min) and trading.

I remember now a team I had with Chicago(I like Derrick Rose ALOT).

PG-Rose
SG-T MAC
SF-Derrick Brown(68 rated rook from Charlotte who is very cheap)
PF-Amare
C-Tyson Chandler

I don't remember the bench very well but it was pretty good. My whole team expired in one year except Rose so my plan was too sign Wade and LeBron too but I failed on that because both didn't opt for free agency.

I asked my friend what team I should start a 'chise with (im a pretty leet gm), so he chose one of the hardest teams to run. The way the team was structured before there was no other scorers on that team. They had some shooters, but they didnt have that 2nd option, thats were K-mart comes into the picture. Dooling, Blatche, Dawkins (more athletic Dunleavy) make my bench pretty damn good. I also have Evans, Hermann, Boone to give me a vet pressence but without the guaranteed pt. Usually I take up to 3 seasons to build my teams to the point were Im happy with it, and play a lot.

One thing about free agency, I havent used the MLE yet, but can you divide it up between players or can you only use the full MLE?

New Suns Association
PG-Nash/CJ Watson/Roko Ukic
SG-Azibuke/B.Rush/MoPete
SF-Mbah Moute/Gomes/Dunleavy
PF-Troy Murphy/Rookie (75)/Amare
C-Amare/Dalembert/Mcgee

Made a big trade with GSW, Barbosa and J-Rich for Murphy(traded to gsw before) Azibuke and Claxton.
Played 2 seasons, traded Earl Clark for Mbah Moute and then signed Dunleavy, Dalembert, Mcgee, and Mopete with my cap from Murphy and Amare then resigned them. Then traded Tucker and Dudley for Gomes. Then traded Jordan Hill for Watson. Idk how I got Ukic tho lol

A few years in with the Cavs, made a lot of moves throughout... First season I traded a first rounder and Antonio Daniels for Rudy Fernandez... Z, Varejao and a pick for Andrea Bargnani and Andrew Bogut, then next season shipped out Bogut for Nene and Shaq for a pick.

I just traded Mo Williams, a big potential rookie and Andrea Bargnani, plus a high first for Chris Paul, and then made a move for Kevin Garnett.

Chris Paul/Mike Conley
Rudy Fernandez/Rookie #1/Daequan Cook
LeBron James/Rookie #1/Daequan Cook
Kevin Garnett/Patrick Patterson
Nene/Demarcus Cousins

My team isn't at all realistic, but it owns.

I started a fantasy draft weeks ago. My cavs team looks like

PG: Steve Nash / Anthony Parker
SG: Jason Richardson / Delonte West
SF: LeBron James / N/A
PF: Dirk Nowitzski / N/A
C: N/A / Hakim Warrick

*N/A stands for I'm tired as hell and cant remember right now, will edit later

What a fucking line up lol....I think im going to start one soon...I need to find time b/c im stuck on the my player most of the times

lebron and dirk is a pretty good combo too

I'm playing the Kings cause they suck. Simulated the first season. I traded Thompson and Martin plus fillers to Hawks for Marvin Williams and Josh Smith plus next year's first round. Signed Shaq for the MLE at the off season. Selected Alec Stokes with the 4th pick. 6'3 PG from Australia. High potential and defense but bad at shooting. Overall ratings at 62 I think. Cant remember the rest but I think I have 3 picks for this year's draft and 4 for next

Alec Stokes (4th pick) / Udrih
Tyreke Evans / Cant remember
Marvin Williams / Casspi
Josh Smith / Cant remember
Hawes / Shaq

Dude, I have that same monkey thing in your avatar.

I keep my associations realistic, so my Cavs one I don't think I made any trades yet, even though I considered playing as if the Cavs signed Villanueva instead of Moon/Parker.

However, I did a fantasy draft where I was free to make lots of trades. Here's that lineup:

PG: O.J Mayo, Stephen Curry
SG: Kevin Durant, Brandon Rush
SF: LeBron James, Derrick Brown, Michael Gooding
PF: Chris Bosh, Tyler Hansborough, JJ Hickson
C: Greg Oden, Hasheem Thabeet

Every one of my starters is young, athletic, and can do everything (except Oden). I love my second unit too.

I need to do a new chise, my current one with the Cavs the only trades I made were Z for Troy Murphy and West and picks for Rudy Gay. My team's ok, but I know I can make better deals.

Normally I trade for a bunch of rookies or 1 year players, maybe I should try that. Are any of the 2's that went lottery this year any good? (Evans, Derozan, Curry, etc.)

Best SG's from this year's draft: Harden, DeRozan.
Tyreke Evans is listed as a sg in the game, not sure how he is though.
Curry's shot is lights out, from three or midrange.

I have two right now a realistic one where I'm playing the Cavs as the roster is now and one where I built the roster how I want it.

I've made so many moves I can't remember them all. I do know that Andy wasnt' satisfied being a starter playing 32mpg, he demanded a trade. Shaq was never happy either.

I traded Mo/Andy/Delonte/and picks to the Suns for Amare/Lopez
Z /Parker went to the Knicks for a 1st/Jordan Hill/ and Jeffries
I signed and then traded Shaq/Lopez and a first to Golden state for Stephen Curry/Randolph.
Signed JR Smith to the MLE
Signed Mike Miller
Let Jeffries walk

I use all my practice/drills on Boobie and JJ.

My lineup:
Boobie(avg 13/7)/Curry(6th man of the year)
JR Smith/Mike Miller
LeBron(3 time MVP)/Moon
JJ(avg 10/10)/Randolph
Amare/Jordan Hill

I'm coming off of back to back championships

Best SG's from this year's draft: Harden, DeRozan.

Curry's shot is lights out, from three or midrange.

Hmm, if I get a chance tonight I might start a new chise and try to poach DeRozan and Bargnani off the Raptors. I was able to build some pretty sick teams in 2k9, it just takes a lot of practice.
