Does anybody know how it compares to NBA Live's offseason?

Is Live's any more realistic with the cap number & the deals they ask for?

Or is 2k9's game play just that much more superior that it doesn't matter?

I haven't bothered with Live since '06 so I'm not sure what it's like now. Back then, franchise mode didn't exist on it. I still fail to see how EA added this shit to Madden back in like 2000, but it took until within the last year to add it to Live.

Exactly.. Always wondered the same thing..

I mean, is the NBA's that complicated that they couldn't even make an attempt at a franchise mode earlier?

I actually made the switch to the 2k series in for 2k7 because 2k7 was released a day earlier than Live or whatever. Best impulse buy I ever made. Franchise mode + realistic basketball.. Hell yeah.

And EA Sports doesn't give a shit about Live. It cares only about Madden.

I made the switch 2k8....I grew up with EA sports, But i couldn't take it no more....Best move i've ever made....I'm about to be done with madden too

I enjoyed NBA Live 2K9... but it quickly got boring. The interface in the menus is clunky and I don't like it. I actually like everything about NBA Live 2008 much better. I'm going to play it by the year and see what comes out and choose. I'm not sticking with one game or the other because to me the game isnt all that amazing, especially when I compare it to something like NHL 09 which is basically flawless.

I agree 100%. The menu system is downright awful. You'd think they would have at least improved it in the slightest when porting it over to PC, but noooo ...

I always cared more about the way the game played than the menu systems.

Also the amount of time you can put into perfecting the sliders in this game so it plays like a "true simulation" is amazing... one of the only games I've played for an NBA game where if you make it harder you have to play it like a real game of basketball with 10-12 minute quarters, instead of the playing 6-7 minute quarters because every game plays like your the old school Suns

I also agree only Canadians and people from Minn care about hockey...

Menu systems are important.

It takes me 15-20 minutes to connect to another player at times. And on other days when connections are better ( ), I always get matched up against guys ranked 15,000+.

If the game had lobbies, like 2K8 did, it would be the best game ever.

I get matched up with hall of famers often, It's funny because oddly it seems like i struggle with players who are just basic and ranked in the millions. Than i beat hof and all stars like by 15 and shocked when i go look at their playercard

Poor 2k9

I hardly played it this year, I gave it another shot after they fixed the online play and I could never find a game, people tend to quit if you pick the Cavs.

I've had no problems with connecting or dropping, but I don't play online that much. Probably because I'm terrible.
