Seems like everyone outside Bay Area is putting this title in the context of injuries/luck. I wasn't even aware of all the multiple breaks GS got before the finals.

Yeah, it was luck, but anyone else get tired of hearing it like we aren't freaking lucky as hell?

Yeah we didnt catch a break with injuries this year. But we were lucky to win the Lebron lottery, lucky he turned out to be the best player in the world, and then lucky he is from the area and Miami didn't win last year to get him back. We were lucky to get Kyrie Irving with a 2.8% odds at him and lucky that a guy who was injured his evaluation year turned out to be great. We were lucky again with a 1.7% shot to get Wiggins, who we were lucky to be able to flip for a youngish allstar that was luckily demanding to be traded because his team was historically incompetent. We were lucky that Carmelo went down and got the Knicks to turn over Smith and Shumpert for trash in order to tank. I know it doesnt follow the Cleveland misfortune line, but we have formulated what could be one of the best teams of all time all through sheer dumb luck. Realistically not much else could have gone our way that didnt.

One week ago, The Finals were tied 2-2, and we still had hope. Sigh.

what the hell happened omg! I still can't believe we lost...
being up 2-1, playing so well and completely controlling the first 3 games, game 4 at the Q and we looked really bad for the next 3 games.

its hard to let go, and "what if" keeps coming to mind - what if shump makes that shot game 1, what if lebron drives to the basket game 1 and scores,
we up 1-0 with kyrie starting!

god dammit life is so cruel, we deserved that perfect ending more the anybody in the world

I rewatched game 6. The entire series could be boiled down to the 160 seconds from 10:53 to 8:13 that followed the cavs taking their lead in the 3rd period. Those 2+ minutes summed up everything. They had just gone on a strong run to catch the warriors, and take the lead, and look to be dominating again... and then they just completely start doing stupid stupid things. Mozgov passes to Iguodala, James stands near the sideline waaay out almost at half court while delladova runs the offense...and makes a comically bad choice to throw it to mozgov for a 3 point (airball)... TT falls down, James backs up and trips over him leaving uncontested three for green, Delladova runs comically the wrong way leaving an undefended rim for uncontested dunk that isnt even in transition... Shumpert dribbles off his foot - just a comedy of errors compressed into 160 seconds, where the cavs go from up 2, to down 6. They never led again.

I don't care what I will be labeled. The series changed not because Kerr went small, but because the refs accommodated the fact that he went small and changed the way they w er e calling the games.

The Cavs still had their chances but their probability of winning dropped measurably when the refs changed their mind on what a foul was.

We couldn't counter that. We should have employed hack an Iggy every chance we had by throwing Joe Harris in and using his fouls. A nice fuck you to the league for letting the best player in the world get fouled without regard while they were taunting, crying and complaining successfully to get whistles on their end.

I think it is also adding insult to injury that this was the year the NBA was cracking down on Illegal screens.

The screens are only illegal if the screener isn't making a move to the basket. Kerr was brilliant in setting up the offense this way. When the screener didn't make that legal move the refs actually did call the illegal screen. Kerrs playing experience really showed there, being able to walk the fine line. But the illegal screens were almost all called. The legal ones gave the cavs fits because the Warriors just had too many players with freakish abilities to get shots off freakishly fast with very little space.

But if you watch those 2 minutes I mentioned above, you will see all of the cars flaws exposed in a concentrated stretch of time. Kylie would have made a difference I think (although even with him at full strength the Warriors won game one)

With the exception of a huge run in the 3rd quarter of game 3, the Cavs were never "dominating". I agree that the sequence you described is the series in a nutshell, but I disagree with your assessment of why.

The entire series consisted of the Cavs fighting and clawing to keep things close. Never did it really feel like they were in control. They were usually competitive -- and yes, they dictated pace -- but rarely did it feel like they had the upper-hand. On the flip side, it felt like at any given moment the Warriors could erupt and go on a huge run.

I felt like it was almost cyclical. Warriors would go up, Cavs would fight their way back into it, and the process would repeat itself again.

Go away, troll.

Cmon. All I am saying is he's their version of Ochocinco. The kind of player that if they are on your own team, you love his craziness, but if he's on another team he seems like a huge arrogant jerk.
